TH Ten To Follow Competition 2023/2024

Hi ep. apologies for the slow response. Firstly congratulations on your huge win. You were clear by Christmas and none of us could get anywhere near you from then on. That must be the biggest score in any one of these so far. A fantastic effort. On top of that you also win the £100 winners...

The Turners is unlikely to exist in it's current guise next season Tan. the word on the street is that it'll revert to a 0-145 novices handicap.

Cheltenham Point to Point Meeting ?

I'm there tomorrow and working through the card, but I'm not at final selections yet and I may be partially swayed by the markets if there is any good each way value when the markets go up. I'll post my shortlist now though as I'll probably forget to post: 4.35 Fie Jaguen 5.10 Wolf Walker /...

    Punchestown Festival 2024

Yes I agree. There are obvious dangers, and both are fresher horses that didn't have the hard Gold Cup GDC did. It's exactly the scenario that causes shocks at Punchestown every year. Yes he is the likely winner, but 4/6 is just too short..

    Good afternoon all....

Well happily participation seems to be picking up here since the refresh QC, and hopefully you'll have the next 10 years amongst new friends.

    Latest affordability check news

At least we punters have some temporary relief. I'm an antepost punter with large turnover, so the original GamReg proposals would have killed me. Keeping usable accounts open would have been the least of my worries, and it would just have been game over. This move at least keeps me in the game...

Willie said after his win yesterday that Mystical Power is a Champion Hurdle horse for next season. After Daddy Long Legs facile win yesterday too, he said he'll have a flat campaign, which Willie's usual MO is to keep them over hurdles the following season. Then add in State Man, and the...

    The weather

To really spoil yourself, you must book a chalet in Hemsby and get the bus there Ian. I heard Gozzer and Appleby book a twin chalet when they run in the same maiden. It's worth the trip just to find out if you're neighbours.

Hello gentlemen. Nice to meet you. QC, did you frequent the old Neigh website many years ago?

    How d'you do

Hi Drone, it's good to see you back after a very long sabbatical. Warbler/Alun fell out of love with racing many a moon ago. I've not seen him post on any of the political threads anywhere for a very long time either. We were still in touch when he moved back from Oxford to his native...

Ballyburn has been taken out of the 2m novice at Punchestown, so there's not chance they plan to stay hurdling otherwise he'd be running in it. With it likely that the Turners either goes or becomes a limited novice handicap it'll be either the Arkle or the Brown Advisory for him, Given Willie...

    Punchestown Festival 2024

Plenty of dilution at Punchestown, but it has a different feel to it than the others. Despite a mix of graded races and lower quality stuff, it has an end of season party feel to it, so Punchestown doesn't have to pretend to the the Cheltenham Festival or the DRF. I've been a few times over the...

I'd agree Ian. There's a place for all of them. Twitter is very limited in what it can do, and doesn't really allow any kind of discussion. Just brief comments. Some will say that's fine, that's all they want. To different degrees the other forms of social media are the same really. Forums...

Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

Awful news with both. Elixir in the season when he finally got his act together, and Shishkin still capable at G1 level before being retired over the next season or so. Very much a fans favourite.

The King Of Ryhope runs in the 2.30 at Aintree on Saturday. Currently favourite, and his price is probably a fair reflection of his chance if the ground is soft or better.
