Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

Paul Carberry and Harchibald were such a partnership. My favourite memory of them is the Kempton race where they went off odds on but allowed Rooster Booster to build a 25 length lead. They were still 12 lengths behind two out but they reeled him in with 100 yards to spare. This was what the...

Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

That's him. He did most of his winning over 2m4f, including two Durkan Chases and two Melling Chases. He was a classy horse, trained by Arthur Moore and owned by John Magnier.

    Jockey News

It is a gamble, surely. How well does she know the French way of racing? But maybe her style of getting horses into a rhythm will be be suited to the pancake-flat French tracks. And the allowance she’ll be getting should come in useful.

    Jockey News

I’m pleased that he’s done it at least once in his career, it would have been a travesty if he hadn’t. He’s still only 25, I think, but how long can he keep going after all the injuries he’s had?

Well the alert served it's purpose just now :) Thanks for the explanation.

    New site opinions?

I like the feel of the changes but I haven't worked out yet how to be sure of not missing stuff. Why is there a difference between the alerts given when you click on the bell symbol as opposed to what is listed under the What's New heading?

    Constitution Hill

I think it's a safe bet that Ballyburn will be go chasing next season unless something happens to State Man and there is more bad news about Constitution Hill.

    Punchestown Festival 2024

State Man is so reliable and straightforward. Ballyburn, on the other hand, was headstrong today and fought his jockey. That said, he was too good for his opposition.

    Punchestown Festival 2024

Punchestown is both the end of the winter season and the start of summer jumping. It also has a few relics of tradition in the form of the races over the banks.

    Ian Davies

One detail about you that is relevant to this forum is that you used to be a member on here, as Ian Davies without the underscore, until you deliberately got yourself banned. But that was quite a while ago, and maybe you had forgotten. As you suggest, maybe it hardly matters now.

    2024 Grand National

I don't thin there's any fear of such a thing. These horses have to be travelled over, in advance, from Ireland. They're not going to do that in order to deliberately pull them out after they've arrived, at a cost of thousands per horse in declaration fees and travel costs. And if they declare...

Thanks for taking this project on, I appreciate your good intentions and hopefully you’ll get around soon to realising them. Meanwhile, however, are there any precautions we should be taking in case the worst might happen? For example, should we give permission to somebody here to extract and...

It turns out that one of the sitting FG MEPs in the Midlands North West constituency, Colm Markey, is standing down, which is good news for Nina.
