The Will Win Thread

You can be as good as you like at this game but can't account for things like that. Squashed at the start taken all around the wrekin and 2nd closing with every stride.

Very unlucky EC. Great effort.
Ran well against negatives as you say Danny, should win next time out would think. Shame as I had it doubled with Slims. Great call Slim.

There was a lot going on in that race. Most importantly going forward, no one can tell me that the Windsor race Princess Rascal was second in is good form, stopwatch be damned. It’s a perfect example of lazy clock devotees simply getting a horse wrong.

The first and third from that Windsor race are entered on Wednesday in a fillies’ Listed race. I already have a line through both runners.
Azaniya has been bet from 4/1 into a tight 9/4. I'm not having it.

I'm here to be shot at, but last night, I backed Nanino Nyati ew at 25s.
I'm going with my theory that last time out at Windsor, she did far too much out in front, on ground she probably disliked.
Previous to that, she looked promising over c/d under todays likely conditions.
She had the Haggas horse well beat that day, so I'm going for what I think is a bit of value.

Salisbury 4.30

Not one for this thread, but I've bet Wujood at 6/1. Revoir looks a bit tripless. Azaniya is welcome to prove me wrong at the price. Miss Justice has won a Southwell novice over 12f after failing to beat an Alan King horse off 82 in a handicap.

What's quite telling is that only one horse in the race has a future entry — Wujood, who is entered for the Group 3 Snow Fairy Stakes at the Curragh on August 30th. It's a front-runner, and the first two in the betting will likely be held up. It got beat last time by Consent (entered in the Moyglare), pulling 11 lengths clear in what was admittedly an ordinary field. But is that formline any worse than Azaniya’s, or are the clock-watching wankers wetting their shorts again over her Windsor win?

I think Wujood has a lot of upside at 6/1. It's not a “will win” bet per se, but I'd also like to keep the thread of my thoughts on these formlines in one place. I've had a bet.

Well. Got that well wrong. Onwards 😏

So did I,but he didn't last home, which meams I'd read his form wrong. Doh!

It's a she and the trip didn't beat her.
I was sooooo 😂 tempted to reply: "well, the first way in which you read the form wrong was the gender in a long-standing race called the Upavon FILLIES (there's your clue) Stakes," but I'm trying to be nice this week - and evidently being nice is just too much of a challenge for me!

Had I been perfect - I wouldn't have had the bet!

There is one on Saturday that's a throwback to the threads of old: a 2yo running first time out. The jockey is enough to put me off unless it's a proper price, but we'll see what the market gives us

There will be a bet at Tramore tonight. I'll post it in about an hour. I can't tell you how excited I am about having a bet in this kip.

Tramore 7.05
Time In A Bottle 9/4 or better

There is no 11/10 shot in this race. Derryville is a very bad price, possibly overrated because San Curling is having a few winners, who cares. Faceman has the lack of assistance of Brian Hayes. The best piece of riding he ever did was Rachael Blackmore.

Here is what I expect to happen. Josh Williamson will get the lead on the tiny mare who jumps very well. The other two will mark each other and she'll be too hard to reel in on Tramore’s notorious lack of a run-in. 5/2 is very good value.

Those of you who are observant will note Darragh O'Keeffe was down to ride a NR. The mare is owned by the Hydes who are related to the Williamsons, so he wouldn't have had the choice to ride this. Also, claiming 7lb off a small mare with a competent jockey is a very good move. This looks like good race planning to get an average mare to win a bang-average race.

I apologise that this is posted late and most will miss it but sometimes I'm limited in what I can do. This bet would be in the stronger category.

You've given a good half an hour's notice and anyone who isn't permanently logged onto TH should not only be banned, but be also facing a custodial sentence.

Intriguing race, intriguing selection - thanks for posting, I shall watch with interest at one of my favourite Irish tracks.

That was f$%^ing painful. Jesus Christ. You need to lead before the last at Tramore or that's what happens.
