The 2025 Tingle Creek Chase

Did banning tobacco advertising ever have an effect om reducing smoking ? Hard to tell with all the things they put in place afterwards. The smoking ban came in 2007 then the age rise, change of packets and stricter I.D. All seems pretty pointless now there are a couple of vape shops on every high street and kids all with their E-pens/sticks whatever they are called.
back home it was huge price increases that impacted most I'd say, a few years ago someone got done for having a full on cigarette factory (all the machines etc) going on his small holding

I suppose the question is whether the Mildmay was Jonbon’s last hurrah, or whether there’s still a cheer to come. He’ll carry my money and my lungs will be sore cheering him home, or just in appreciation of a wonderful horse that’s given me so much pleasure (and a few bob).

I'm really looking forward to this.

Il Etait Temps has looked like a machine to me in his last four races, while L'Eau Sud was no more than useful over hurdles but already commands an OR 25lb higher over fences and did beat Jonbon with staggering ease at Cheltenham recently.

In what Hendo confessed was no more than a warn up.

Still think Jonbon can defy the odds.
Beaten in lastyear's QE11,Hendo opined he was knackered after a long hard season, and Hendo has gone to some length ro ready him for this.and the new blinds could be the glue to bring it all together.

I would love to see Jonbon win but I'll be watching the race without a bet. There's a bit of me suspects Il Etait Temps's win over him reads marginally better than Jonbon's very best form and he has youth, so likely further improvement, on his side.

I hope they both turn up in peak form and serve up a proper race.

Would a finish like the one in the Durkan be too much to ask?

I can easy show various stats for the prev winners of any of the 1000+ flat and jumps pattern races I have set up , here I've added the info on their previous 3 runs prior to the race.
Here is the info for the Tingle Creek, it's still in beta at the moment.

I think that was a proper race. The front two have put the Skelton upstart in his place and I reckon Jonbon has probably run close to his best form but the winner has just run away from him.

Whether IET can do that at Cheltenham I don't know but he might not need to. There's enough other top races for him to build on this.

Timeform had Il Etait Temps on 172 (Jonbon 170) going into this race.

It will be interesting to see how they rate them as a result of this. I'll be surprised if they don't raise IET at least 5lbs.

I was on Jonbon and was happy after the rail fences.

Next news Paul sticks to the inside and is off. Jonbons absolutely ran his race there, thats an awesome performance.

Marjborough needs to be every bit as good as the yard says he is to be beating that if/when they clash at the DRF.

Post this before the race next time, please, Mr Overling - aftertiming 8/11 winners gets the Underlings waving those pitchforks and lighting torches again.

Quality winner, that - obviously.
Mr Overling would assume even the underlings would see the best horse boosted was a gift. Hardly a Mastermind moment to boast about.

Yours
Mr Overling
