As many of you will know, 2026 has already been declared: "The Year Of The YFUSA" in various countries and cultures around the world.

And, to commemorate this, YFUSA has decided to initiate a thread and may very possibly put up a Lucky 15 or some such to get 2026 off to a flier.

YFUSA has been looking at: Cheltenham, Musselburgh, Windsor, Southwell and Newcastle while consuming his favourite biscuits which, contrary to popular urban myth, aren't Hob Nobs or even Chocolate Hob Nobs, but are instead the produce of Lottie Shaw's.

More specifically its the Year of the Horse

With the Jocks claim Il Rodoto is chucked in at Cheltenham in the handicap chase. Seems regressive though + the 14s you could've got yesterday, has evaporated. No thanks at the moment.. Right pub time.
Took 12s and 14s before decs. He may be regressive but the mark he's off with the claimer on is ridiculous .

Main bet is Eagle Fang in the novice chase. Regents Stroll has done frig all over fences and is ridiculously short.

Mustn't hold that against him, some of my best friends are 'vertically challenged'!
Having friends you can literally look down on has to be the way forward in 2026.

My New Year's Day Lucky 15 will be for short arses only - anyone 5' 10" or above won't be allowed to back them.

Haven't been backing much over the festive period but I've chanced an ew double on Moon d'orange 12/1 and Jasmin de grugy 6/1 for Cheltenham tomorrow.

This will be my 3rd day off the fags and booze I hit rock bottom over Christmas and decided I've gotta make a start somewhere, I won't lie I'm feeling like absolute shit so won't be posting much until I'm feeling a bit perkier. Have a good new year folks and hope you get plenty of winners.

The Danny I see on here deserves better - be nice to yourself, fella, and the above decision to be nice to yourself in healthy ways sounds like the smart move and the way forward.

Many thanks for all the interaction this year - it made a narcissist not less narcissistic, but you did make him stop and at least reflect once or twice, even when appalled by me you "got" me and what I'm about (few do either tbh) and I regard you as a tremendous force for harmony on this forum, the occasional human lapse aside.

Happy New Year!

He isn't the only one potentially 'chucked in' (vis a vis his mark, doesn't make him a good thing).

I got a look at the race last night and took 5/1 Glengouly when I realised it was running. Normally this race sees runners from the Mackeson and Massey Ferguson taking each other on but only Il Ridoto does so and I wonder if it’s because they don’t think they can reverse the form with Glengouly who was a proper job horse last time in the Massey Ferguson. Bowen said after the race that AP had told him it had a “massive chance” so they must have anticipated some kind of return to form and it is still chucked in on its older form in Ireland. I’ll save on Il Ridoto. Ruby Walsh has analysed him to the nth degree but did say last time that he had never won when rated more than 141 or carrying more than 11-3. Off 139 and 10-11, less whatever the good claimer is worth, he must have a huge chance if Glengouly doesn’t run his race.

All the best for 2026 Danny !!

Good luck Danny 👍

Back to the racing - I thought Riskintheground might have a chance in the 2.00 at Cheltenham but not so sure when I saw he races off 145. Bit puzzled why he’s on that mark tbh as well beaten off 142 in the Hennessy

Maciver returns to Tramore tomorrow where he landed a nice 25/1 -12/1 touch a year ago.
He had a decent run 2 runs back, his pulled up last time can be forgiven.
Tom Hogan introduces Jupiter de Gite to Irish racing also.
This fella performed well in a schooling hurdle before christmas so might be a decent ew prospect.

Would seem to have a lot in his favour. Didn't stay the longer distance, I doubt DS gives two hoots whether he's on 142 or 145

Is the ratings increase linked to Blueking d'Oroux winning the Grade 2 novice chase at Wincanton on November 8 after Riskintheground had previously beaten Blueking d'Oroux by three-quarters of a length ( giving 12 pounds ) in an intermediate chase at Newton Abbot on 18 October ? Coral Cup weights were announced in the week preceding the Wincanton race.
