    Chester 2025

That 1:30 at Chester is a funny race - the top 3 in the betting were 1-2-3 (in the same order) the last time each of them ran here, and they were only separated by 1l. I think I'll be going with Divine Libra. A very minor weight swing with the other 2 from last year, and similarly with Gorak...

    The 2025 Chester Cup (Handicap)

I'll take a leap of faith with Morning Air for Venetia Williams. There isn't much to go off with her, and her record doesn't scream anything special, but Venetia has some form for this. Green Book won the plate in 2021 as a 77-rated maiden, and Bellatrixsa won it a year later after she'd had a...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

Telling that Jonny Burke has only one ride (that I can see) in the bumper at Kelso today? Rode at Worcester yesterday and has 3 booked rides at Huntington tomorrow. Long way to travel. Hey Buddy - 1705 Kelso - 13/8

What are you backing Today? Part 2

If Not For Dylan in the Highlands National (14.05 Perth) today. Has a decent record at Perth and won this race 2 year ago from 3lbs lower. Had some time off since then but came back and won LTO. Lucinda has had a winner each of the past 2 days - admittedly from heaps of runners - so fingers...

Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

Anyone know what happened to Mr Bramley of Jedd O'Keeffe? I've just seen he's recorded as having died on RP but I haven't seen anything anywhere. A shame if true, he seemed like a horse going in the right direction.

What are you backing Today? Part 2

Fingal's Hill 4:12 @ Kelso. Seems to quite like this time of year - rattled up a hattrick this time a couple of years ago - and won LTO. I like backing Brian Hughes around Kelso, and hopefully the small number of runners lets him won it from the front. Such a competitive race, though, and has...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

Got an e/w double from earlier in the week on Wiltshire Lad (150 Muss) and Wild Waves (335 Muss). Also quite like the chances of Dain Ma Nut In (225 Muss), Jer Batt (300 Muss) & Profitable Edge (517 Muss). All seem to like to get on with it and should be fine on most ground. GL all.

Dear me, how much did you have on?! 😂 I took 3/1 this morning and I thought that was a bit skinny, none of that left now!

    The 2025 Queen's Cup Handicap

Wild Waves looks like the one for me, too. 2.5L behind Tabletalk last year doesn't look too bad now, given TT is up to 108. Hopefully the gelding and some natural improvement will do the trick for Wild Waves. I also quite like Wiltshire Lad in the Royal Mile for Andrew Balding. If you compare...

    The 2025 Longshot Thread

I've backed Inishfallen (33/1) and Klarc Kent (40/1) in an e/w double - partly based on this and other topics on here tbf - and they've both been trimmed a little bit since that. I quite like them both but Mullins having so many tempers my expectations with KC. I'll owe you all a pint if it...

    The 2025 Grand National

Backed the winner antepost back in February, went off twice the price today. Typical! I think I would've been happy for the winner regardless, what a tale. Not often you see Willie Mullins getting emotional.

    Aintree (other races)

I think I'll give Act of Authority another chance after that shambolic start!

    Aintree (other races)

Caldwell Potter stuck that out better than I thought he would there. Race somewhat fell apart in fairness. I still don't he'll win a GC but Aintree/Kempton/Haydock could very well be doable.

    The 2025 Longshot Thread

I came here looking for this one after I spotted it was running today. Not quite 50/1 now but worth a go at 22/25s. You couldn't help but take notice of the way he came through late on at Uttoxeter LTO, and that was only his 2nd run back after 2 years off, so hopefully there was plenty to work...

    Aintree (other races)

I couldn't help but be impressed by Filibustering (2:20) at Kelso on his first run over hurdles. The opposition was admittedly pretty poor, but his jumping was impeccable, he didn't put a foot wrong. Maybe he'll need a stiffer test than this - he stayed 2m on the flat - but worth a try at 14/1...
