    The 2025 Longshot Thread

I've had a little ew at 45/1 on Wolf of Badenoch. Newbury 3.00. A promising 2yo who probably hasn't progressed as hoped. However it was a fair effort at Chelmsford in Aprill finishing 3 lengths off two 112 rated horses. I can easily draw a line through its last run on the dreaded straight...

On them lines. You can go back to the 1910 fight between Jack Johnson + James J Jeffries.

Surprised you've not mentioned the race for grey horses at Newmarket Saturday. One of those summer highlights to go with the Shergar cup + the Newbury 2yo yearling race 😆

The 2025 Prix Jacques Le Marois

On a going day + any sort of ground seem like no problem, King Gold, looks overpriced at 66s.

The 2025 York August Meeting Day 1 (Wednesday) thread

It will be my first Ebor in 25 years. A repeat of that day will do just fine. 3 winners. Prince Alex in the first Give the slip in the Ebor itself Honesty Fair in the last race. Trained by a certain Jeremy Glover ( 14/1 ). Happy days.

I'm going Saturday, which I'm not particularly looking forward to. She wouldn't take Friday off work.😡

    The 2025 Racing League

Claymore sort of semi interests me, as he was never put in the race on Saturday with any sort of chance + couldn't have exerted himself much.

    The Will Win Thread

I'm here to be shot at, but last night, I backed Nanino Nyati ew at 25s. I'm going with my theory that last time out at Windsor, she did far too much out in front, on ground she probably disliked. Previous to that, she looked promising over c/d under todays likely conditions. She had the...

The 2025 Great St Wilfrid Handicap

Doesn't look a particularly strong race for a class 2. Abduction (20/1). Has a sizable swing in the weights with the market leader Rousing Encore from their encounter at Ayr last autumn. Dark Thirty (25/1), would be my two at this early stage.

    Trainers In Form

Jack Channon, has hit a bit of a purple patch. Group 3 at Leopardstown last week. Listed success in France Sunday. Valuable sprint at Windsor last night.

I backed Pilsudski when he won the Breeders Cup Turf in 95, or 96. In them days as you referred to, I always put Pari mutuel on the slip. Even though it was a strong field. I got paid out at ridiculous odds. More than triple what the bookies over here were offering.

    The 2025 Shergar Cup

I'll watch one more race, then I'm off to the pub.
