Generous lashings of Tesco Finest Duck & Seville Orange Pate on top of Garlic crackers, washed down by a litre of Banana Milk - a veritable lunchtime feast for £4.15p. #Lifeafterwaitrose

£2 bought me 150g of said exquisite pate, £1.15p got me the garlic crackers and £1 yielded the litre of banana milk.

I am aware the same sum would have purchased me a semi-detached house with its own freehold in Glasgow, as many deep fried mars bars as I could eat in an hour plus the frankly dubious offer of a date with someone called "Nicola," but prices are somewhat higher "dahn sarf" here in Hampshire!

There's a seeded sourdough bread about £3.75 a loaf at their fresh bread counters in non deprived areas ( I have to travel to get it ) makes the best toast I've ever had turns cheesy beans on toast into some gourmet level shizzle !

Talking of baileys, I can't face it now. One xmas day I got the idea of putting it on profiteroles from someone posting it on internet. Was right nice, but overdid it. OMG, never been so poorly all day boxing day. Since then that was baileys over for me.

Omg, I know the one you mean - it’s so good!!!

Baileys in hot chocolate… very nice, especially after you’ve had it over ice cream just before 🤣

We have Tesco Lotus 30km from my home but they don't even know what pate is let alone Duck & Seville. Orange Pate. You guys are so lucky. I have to order online for things like pork sausages which cost about 8 pounds for 5...how much in the Uk these days?

I get amazing ones from the village shop for £6.50 a pack of 8. Village butcher is cheaper and more dense, but Soph’s not such a fan of those, they are almost too meaty!

Tesco Garlic crackers are so nice they are worthy of their own thread, if not forum!

I was topping them with duck and orange pate, but have now moved into extra mature cheddar.

It's very important that you all know about Tesco Finest Moroccan Inspired Chicken Soup.

I bought some yesterday, along with a sliced Tiger Bloomer loaf.

The combination was exquisite.

I'm actually glad I ended my nine-year relationship with Waitrose now - that is all!
