The 2025 Royal Ascot Tuesday Thread

I reckon they'll water any firm ground out of the course, at least ahead of today, plus the first 5f of the SJP course is on the round track which wouldn't be as fast anyway as the rest of the course, plus it's uphill so I can't see it being too much of an issue, at least today, and it did beat standard time at the Curragh so the ground must have been on the fast side that day.

For me it's definitely the percentage call but whether it is betting material might be another matter.

There isn't enough water in the taps to stop it being rattling ground today.

I can tell you it's as dry as f that part of the world at the moment so I agree with above

Good Luck to all of you with your bets today.
Sat on a cruise ship in the med and I informed my better half that they are using racing terminology to determine how hot it is.
For instance H = Hot V = Very Hot etc.
What are we she says..
FB I reply.
What does that mean?
F***ing Boiling I inform her.

Agree.. but Tony Bloom money, is usually money well spent + it's been heavily backed.
Heighlin won both the Triumph Hurdle and Ascot Stakes in the same year so it's not impossible. I watched the whole race for the first time on YouTube yesterday as I would have been at school in 1980. He wasn't even mentioned by Peter O'Sullevan until they crossed the road after the home turn, and he only took the lead close to the line. Also a maiden over hurdles, but I suspect David Elsworth would have given him a few runs. He raced four times between Cheltenham and Royal Ascot.

Tony Bloom co-owns The Reverend which may have to wait a long time for his preferred soft ground. He's in the Duke of Edinburgh Handicap on Friday, but probably won't run, and may be too low anyway with a handicap mark of 94.

Got a few I will have a little on (bit gutted Bucanero Forte is out...:()
All ew
Quddwah
Jasour & Night Raider
Rashabar
Saturn & Align the Stars
Haunted Dream
Champagne Prince
And anything else I see that looks nice in the paddock but that will be very late on.

Added a place on Poniros to my main fancies (Notable Speech and King's Gambit.) When he was with Ralph he barely stayed 12f, can't have him over a mile further and he's very short.
Brave move -for my money he will have learned to relax with Willie over the winter.

Brilliant win for Docklands backers. Well done one and all.

Totally unsatisfactory race though. A proper damp squib unless, of course, you backed Docklands!

Jockey loses whip after first strike and wins; maybe that should be the new rule.
Fabulous jockeyship by Mark Zahra .

He didn't half enjoy it. It really adds a lot to Royal Ascot having international jockeys over. Gary Stevens feels a long time ago!

This is why you need pacemakers. Hannon or Godolphin should have ran a pacemaker to make it a true run race.

I actually thought Docklands was not a good price. Thought he should have been 25s. Great for connections - he's a better trainer than his dad for sure.
But agree with DO - a damp squib to start. Agree with you there, Slim - perhaps pacemakers should definitely have been employed. Hannon sounds gutted.
