What are you backing Today? Part 2

Although it's not well in with some I have to do Stressful. 340
Came from last to first last time.
But you never know with David O'Meara.

Three bets on the Market Rasen card today - all BOG hoping the Maidens drift out in the betting.

3.13 Lunar Ocean 9/2 - Still a maiden but having placed in 5 of his last 6 he should be in the frame again. Lto over course and distance in Oct he only found 1 too good who has gone on to win 2 in 2 since.

3.50 Northern Rose 7/1 - Another maiden which I usually steer well clear of in the h/c's but am now backing 2 in one card. Has only found 1 too good on his last two efforts at this mark and was only beaten by a head at Stratford. If feels a matter of when not if and 7/1 is more than fair and liable to drift.

5.05 Record Art 6/1 - Despite making a mistake at the last at Taunton in April he was running well clear at the line. Of the two horses placing well behind him, 1 has posted a win in a class 4 since and the other has followed up with a 2nd place. Record Art was well backed to follow up lto but something was amiss with the horse jumping way to the right over the hurdles. If they've ironed that out back at the yard he should be well placed for another go.

3.13 NR
3.50 Found 1 too good again
5.05 Bolted clear and landed the money

If you are only going to have one winner in this type of bet, it helps when it’s the above odds:lolup:

I'd go for a small win bet on Kamekist in the Chepstow 4:20, but I can't get on.
I'd need to drive into town and use the TAB at the Casino, as left it too late for elsewhere, and at 12:20am, it's just not happening.
There's a few dollars on BF, but it's 8% commision here. It does take the return to just over the 4/1 mark, but it's the principle of the thing. At 8% it's more like working for them, than paying a commision.
I have found quite a few independent Aus online books, so will spread a few dingo tokens around tomorrow and in the meantime hope Kamekist dislikes Chepstows undulations.

I'm seeing stars (through the clouds).

SALI 3:00 SPANISH STAR
Needs rain. With a strong pace, GDsft (or maybe even genuine GD) might make it worthy of another chance of this low mark. GDSFT would be great, but that doesn't look likely at all.

CATT 7:10 STAR ZIA
Needs the rain to stay away (has been a few short light showers during the night). GDfm would make it worth a chance, Should have zero issue with the extra furlong.

Both would be EW bets to smallish stakes, but I just can't see the weather Gods being onside today. Star Zia looks potentially best of the pair based on the likely ground. Saying that, Tom Eaves riding and it's overall clockings are negatives, but providing ground is just on fast side (or quicker) can get involved in finish. I think they'll cut each others throats upfront to some degree (probably in both races).
I hope you were on Spanish Star tonight.

Horse was incredibly well handicapped. I was going to put it up tonight but didn't want to jinx it.

York 2:25 Saturday
PABORUS
Strictly on form should not win but has won four of its last five starts winning reported as:
Unchallenged/Comfortably/Readily/Easily
I know it flopped at York but that was at a time when the yard wasn't really firing.
The interesting thing is that William Buick has been booked even though Callum Rodriguez his usual pilot also rides at York on Saturday.
6/1 freely available.

He is interesting, but the reason William Buick is riding is that the Wathnan Team bought him after his last win and will now use their choice of jockey.

They are pretty good judges.

Raph/Ralph is double handed in the 5.35 at Salisbury and I like Invincible Duke back on turf at around 13/2. He was poor last time behind Gallant on the AW but his run before that at Goodwood was promising and he's a decent price esp at 365 who are still offering three places (seven run)
