Morning.
Yesterdays selections, again, provided no winner. Crazy run I'm on, for sure. Just as well the stakes are minimal, eh?
Thankuappreciate looked like a non-stayer, didn't he? Went from going smoothly to emptying out very quickly. Maserati to moped. Will back him back at 6f.
Hydroplane was another who emptied very quickly but it may be that he wasn't at home on the ground. I'd be interested when back on top of the ground, especially if downgraded.
Iris Dancer may need to drop a few pounds and he certainly will after this dismal effort.
Today's racing is tempting after the midweek bollocks on offer. However, if I were to get just one winner I'd be over the moon on this, my wedding anniversary. I'll never forget that day at Gretna Green - one of the best days of my life.
My two main bets:
Korker - York 2.00 12/1 Ew 5 places
He loves York and after his last run, where he went for a tour of Ascot before running on towards the far side. I think he's good value for 5 Places.
Galeron - Ascot 3.00 33/1 Ew 6 Places
I do think that this looks like a massive dark horse, if that's not an oxymoron. It's interesting that they opt for 7f. It shouldn't be forgotten that on his last run in this country before he left for South Africa, he was beaten just over 3L by Paddington at the Curragh in a GP1 over 1m.
2 x Ew singles
Ew Double
I have three more but they have attendant worries, even if they are noted horses:
Two Tribes - Ascot 3.00 25/1 Ew 6 places
One that I'm following but, really, I think he's a 6f horse and they'll win a decent pot over that distance. Insurance bet.
Teroomm - Ascot 3.35 5/1 Ew 5 places
Went into my notes last time out but I 'm not fond of backing 3yos against older horses at this time of the season. Not in this class.
Beylerbeyi - York 3.50 16/1 Ew
Another I've been following of late. However, I'm not sure how he'll cope with this new trip
So, a little Ew patent with those three
