There's so many issues with how these people operate. The internet has made it so easy for them. For every one article, one video by a reasonably big creator, calling you out, you can as Bannon would say 'flood the zone with shit', Booming and putting up happy clients and make everything seem rosy. Its like the opposite of cancel culture where just one side flood the zone while the celebrity is unable to keep up, these tipsters master the ability to control the narrative around them. That's before even getting into the ethical questions around tipping, especially this 'insider info' stuff and tipsters who earn far more than they risk.

Tbh, I barely even know who the bloke is.

All I will say - and I might be risking Slim's ire here - is this.

When I did a handful of harmless, lighthearted, Podcasts with someone over a year ago, I was told other Podcasts started bitching about us in their Podcasts.

I 💯% refused to retaliate, or even mention them.

I consider myself better than that - I considered us to be better than that.

IMO you're a talented and highly entertaining bloke, Slim.

As such, you're better than criticising the output of others, no matter how legitimate it might be to expose them.

You show your quality by simply producing superb material yourself - there's just no need to trash others, even if they are trash and deserving of it.

Or even if they trash you.

This is not a recommendation, I am just sharing my own opinion, not suggesting anyone else act on it.

I think that's a perfectly fair and valid opinion.
 
'The truth will set you free' is from the bible (John).

It's a hugely philosophical/didactical assertion which ultimately boils down to what any good parent would impart to their offspring by saying it's always best to be honest.

(In my case it was, 'If I find out you've been lying to me you will get a hiding you will never forget,' and, sure enough, I still remember those hidings.)

For me, anyone who buys into these so-called influencers deserves all they get and even on these forums you get people coming on and telling us X will win while they're laying it on the exchanges safe in the knowledge if only 5% of their 'followers' decide to follow it they will make some money out of the mugs.

Of course, the Nazis took the phrase and changed it to 'Hard work will set you free', boldly etched into the woodwork above the entrances of the concentration camps.

In summary, ignore everyone else, do your own thing and if you can't make it pay find another hobby.

Personally I think there's is a difference between generally talking shit about people, running others down for what they do and content they provide which as Ian points out is time better spent doing your own thing.

But this for me is just pointing out someone who's a fraud, a conman who's duping young people out of money. Which is a worthwhile cause. It's nothing new in racing but the more of these types exposed the better imo. Keep fighting the good fight.

This is a typically fair and reasonable counter argument from Danny.

The thing about me, as I'm sure you've all surmised, is I live within my own bubble.

I don't worry about what can't hurt me and mine.

Social media is full of blokes half my age who make out they know ten times what I know when the reality is that to say they know ten per cent of what I know would flatter them.

I'd be no more likely to fall prey to these short-price carpet bombers (with other people's money) than go on a dinner date with Charlotte Church (with La Church paying).

Slim speaks to a far broader demographic than seen-it-all fellas of a certain age like me, many of Slim's audience are young adults who are vulnerable to this brand of charlatan racing and betting has attracted, and all the points Danny makes are valid.
