The amount of money you'd have to offer me to join a dating site would far out weigh the cost of Cheltenham .The amount of left or right swipes (depending on which way they swipe to say no thank you fatty) I'd receive would mentally crush whatever smidgen of self worth i have left.

There is actually some half decent judges, but most get a semi on thinking they’ve spotted one called ‘Iknowwayurthinkin’ for National when everyone in racing spotted it, only for it to shit up in the Gold Cup, bypass the National, and cost the ‘shroods’ their 9/2 Galopin dockets.

As a wise man on Twitter says, or said before wrongfully being shut down, 10/1 Samcro Supreme dockets and all that.

A Point Blank article quoting the unnamed punter ‘Uncle Smartarse’ could really work, you know. When there are a few more opinions on this thread, I might collate them and put together an alternative to the usual Racing Post bullshit.
 
I don't think knocking 50p off a pint will help that much.i think the biggest problem is the accommodation prices.all the Irish punters there for the week it must be the biggest problem.
 
Even for the Nov meeting rooms are typically a good 3x the price they are the week before or after. So I wouldn't like to think what the markup is for the festival.
So it's not just the course milking people.

This is a very accurate and relevent observation. It initiated the 'cotton wool' movement that still continues, ref: Al Boom Photo, Constitution Hill et al. I remember labouring the Best Mate point on here in the early noughties and the very notion that I was criticising Blessed Henrietta of Wantage bought me a serious amount of dogs abuse and bad manners. "Croppy lie down!"

Obviously you can’t get much further removed from Cheltenham geographically or in class or number of runners but I was allowed out yesterday as my wife no longer needs my 24hr attention and happy to report back how reasonable the prices were there £18 pre booked or £20 otd, pint of Beer £5.40, cans of soft drinks £2, Fish & chips £10 (and very good), Crab sandwiches £6 and oh yes racing was very good 😉
