State Man out for the season

I think Anzadam won't go to Newcastle now and will take in the route State Man would have done

Also could Sir Gino go back over hurdles?

Interesting see how the season pans out now.

Anzadam a natural sub you’d think, but brittle himself.

People falling over themselves to back Lossie.

Real possibility now

State man out, Anzadam flopped today although is probably better than that

Henderson may be getting a call from the Donnelly's

Lossie now 6/4 The New Lion 4/1, i'm sticking with TNL atm, he would have won if stood up and all that bullshine about him being a boat is Bollox

Actually id of said being forced to go quicker than he wanted to probably led to him making the mistake. Nothing puts pressure on jumping like going a stride quicker than they want to be going.

Also you could now judge that 2 mile form as pants as conny was out of it, Anzadam was an unknown but what we do know is that Nemean lion wouldnt be sighted in a Champion hurdle and Golden Ace was being well beaten in it last year until Stateman fell. It'd hardly have been a convincing champion hurdle performance if he had of prevailed by a length from those 2.

I am biased though as ive backed him for the stayers at 40's 😂

The New Lion got in under the hurdle before he fell. I'd worry about the jumping. He should have been putting that race to bed easily.

Fair point about jumping at speed. That's the worry.
But as for today's form - he wasn't tuned up for a Champion Hurdle today.
And the stiffer test will bring the best out in him.
He'll be 10 lengths better coming up the hill at Cheltenham.

Could be a 16 runner race this. If you owned anything around 150, just chuck it in.

Those that are planning County routes may well rethink.

Would Willie race a Ethical Diamond in it? Im absolutely certain the yard don’t fancy Lossiemouth in it.

Something of quality will emerge as the season goes by.
Aftertiming alert but, while the media bemoan the lack of a "superstar" so obvious even they can't miss it, some of ny best-ever ante-post bets have been in open years when you didn't need to be outstanding on the day.

Charter Party 33/1, The Thinker 33/1, Master Oats 20/1, all so-called "Handicappers" supposedly not good enough to win a Cheltenham Gold Cup - but they did.

And I'm sure we all remember Make A Stand in the Champion Hurdle.

The reality is they're ALL "Handicappers" - inasmuch as they all have ORs - and this is especially true over Jumps.

For me as a despicable, conniving, thieving, burgling punter, racing is at its most interesting when the picture is unclear - for amid the murk value lies!
