Irish Sunday Racing Thread

Navan 1.57

Sa Fureur 13/2 (win)
Any Road 16/1 (e/w)

The Troytown looks your typical Irish staying handicap chase but Quai De Bourbon has a lot in hand on his mark. I wouldn't want to be going mad taking it on.

Tomorrow's card at Navan should throw up a very good bet.

The early prices at Navan due to the extra places are an absolute disgrace. Every horse is a point and a half shorter than it should be. I really don’t see the point in betting in these races when bookmakers are completely ripping you off.

I'm on the Yellow Clay at a nice price for the Stayers but he's awful short today and I'm not that keen on Jetara so maybe chance a Maxxum/Colonel Mustard dutch.

The Crystal Ocean runner - SureSureSure - might have something in the bumper that'll help get near-enough to the frame. Appeared to run himself out at Ballinrobe first time up - maybe the hood today will help with some settling. Wouldn't want to be risking it at wildly less than 3 figures (or maybe double figures 4 places), though.

HDB's Wings Of Eagles runner might be worth watching.

Maxxum given a nothing ride. When he. couldn't lead he should have dropped in. Did neither. The Yellow Clay the first over hyped festival runner to have it's bubble completely burst this season.

Gordon said pre race Maxxum needed the run and should come on bundles, where Yellow Clay was as fit as he could have him.

Just watched this - The Yellow Clay hated that ground. Watch it back and he's nodding every other stride which indicates he ain't happy.

Man in form, Robert Tyner has a couple here at Cork today, at big prices. Harty Cup 12.00 + the veteren Sir Bob 1.35.
Sir Bob has decent form around here + is back down to a winning mark. I'll have an ew bet on him

WD on the nap Slim but missed it. Just in from rugby (and it was the 11.43 race). Also to assist Custom Taylor / Intent Approach run in the 1.52 race

Good way to start though.

I'm probably getting too giddy with excitement but, suitably emboldened by today's events in Berkshire, might 16/1 Luker's Tipple in the 3.10 at Fairyhouse tomorrow be fair?

He's never actually won a race, but I thought he ran rather well "in" a place called Navan "the last day" (check me out with my Irish race speak) and might "trouble the judge" (ok, it's a fair cop, that was a cliche too far).

I'd better get off the thread before he notices I gatecrashed it.
