I'm not going to do this every time there is a meeting on at Rasen but it is the worst track in the country for not racing over the advertised distances and i thought i would just inform people of the changes for tomorrow. Then i will leave it to your good selves to check the changes. The extra distances did cost our dear friend Slim at the last meeting and they are worth bearing in mind.

12.20 is over an extra 141yds.

12.50 an extra 180yds

1.20 an extra 240yds

1.55 an extra 180yds

2.25 an extra 240yds

2.55 an extra 240yds

3.25 an extra 141yds.

As i said before, why they cannot move the start to accommodate these extra distances is beyond me.

Bold statement - I recall a "3m" chase at Southwell being 3m2f not long ago and there are similar offenders elsewhere.

It's actually a massive betting edge if you make a study of it in advance.

I can recall a few races over the years where the advertised distance has been meaningless. But the difference with Market Rasen is that they do it EVERY race, EVERY meeting.

I recall doing a few races there over the past few years where the distance have been extended by over 300yds. And we were talking over an extra furlong and a half.
