Here are my bets for the UK's all-weather races today. Initial selections are from the Chelmsford meeting. There may be more to follow later.

Note, the point of writing up these selections is always to illustrate which horses are carrying my personal bets. And those bets are always derived/determined from the processes outlined in the book: UK All-Weather Racing: A Specialist's Guide to Finding Value on the AW

6:00 CHELMSFORD - Handicap (0-65) (6) 4yo+ 5F

SHALAA ASKER
is an In Form 8 year old gelding who’s a Course & Distance winner. He last ran 10 days ago at Southwell in a Class 6 over 5 furlongs, finishing 1st winning by 1.75 lengths. Today, he’s running in the same class and over the same distance. He looks well handicap. His winning mark id 79 and is running off 65 today.

He’s the standout pick, he’s in really good form having won his last 3 races. He is really well drawn in 1 for a course that has a low draw bias. There are three early pace horse in the race with Dark Side Prince, Jungle Dance and SHALAA ASKER. Jungle Dancer is drawn in 9 sobbed basically out of it.

The main dangers are Dark Side Prince, a multiple C&D winner, Cabeza De Llave and Spendmore Lass.

SHALAA ASKER Win bet @ 3.75 BOG

19:00 CHELMSFORD

TWIRLER - is a In Form 5 year old mare that’s a distance winner. She last ran 10 days ago at Kempton in a Class 6 over 7 furlongs, finishing 1st winning by 0.30 lengths. She’s won twice at 6F so the drop from 7F should be fine.

She looks ok at the weights. Her highest winning mark is 70 and she is 66 today. The trainer and jockey are both in good form.

She’s a strong contender after her recent win. She’s proven that she’s effective at 6F

TWIRLER EW @ 7.0 BOG

SHALAA ASKER Was very poor today.

TWIRLER Had everything set up, strong early pace to aim at. Sat in a really good position but Pinjarra just didn’t weaken. I’ll be interested to see the RaceIQ metrics and sectional data.

I’m pleased that we got the place but I was fully expecting the win.
