    Calling Fudge

Thanks very much for that update fudge That is a shame - let's hope he recovers and comes back for the big sprint handicaps later in the season. I was planning to have a decent bet on him in the Wokingham as I'm convinced he is much better than he showed at Newbury... Is the mighty Premio...

    Lydia On The Derby

SL - Lydia is spot on about Great Leighs. I wanted to love the place as it would be a very handy track for me to visit, but sadly the place is exactly as Lydia describes. The racing facilities for horses are excellent but as a venue for racegoers it is shambolic. That is pretty much a fact...

I was disappointed to see your fella Royal Rock has been taken out of the Wokingham. I hope all is well with the horse?

    The Sprinters

Fudge Any news on Premio Loco or Sundae? When are we likely to see them? Agree re Royal Rock - looks a horse more than capable of making an impact at Group level.

    Calling Tdk

Indeed ...now you are getting into the spirit of it, Relkeel! BTW - I would have to take back my ridiculous comparison of Godolphin with Chelsea - it flatters Sheik Mo's men to a huge extent. Godolphin's achievements would be equivalent to buying Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea this...

    Calling Tdk

.... and what would an arb player be? Middlesborough perhaps - dull, predictable and never going to do anything remotely exciting.

    Calling Tdk

Nah - not one for Pseud's Corner - that is for overtly pretentious guff surely? This is just guff - pure and simple :P

    Summer Championships

We'll get the entries for the Ascot Group 1s tomorrow, so there be inevitably be some additions....

    New Approach

So he is still going for the 2000 then

    Mission Affirmed

I remember Mission Affirmed very well - a decent animal around Southwell in his prime - in fact I think I remember backing him in his first start at that track where he showed distinct promise for Tom Tate. Shame he is in this state now - best of luck to zebs friend in getting him back in shape.

    Summer Championships

I'm not a bookies PR man, so I can tell the truth  They have indeed been quiet so far although we have laid a couple of decent bets - the biggest being on Sakhee's Secret in the Golden Jubilee at 6-1. We go up with the races to whet people's appetite for the flat season as much as...

    Older Milers

Jeremy not among entries for Lockinge so look very unlikely he is still in training.

    Older Milers

I think they are all retired BTB

    Older Milers

They are both 4yo+ races - do you mean lightly raced 4 year olds? Tom Segal thinks Don't Panic could be a runner in the Lockinge... Creachadoir, Al Qasi and Tariq are three others that could be aimed at the Group races over a mile...

    Don't Panic

Indeed, fudge. The race your horse won was one of the strongest handicaps run all season imo. I'm hoping your boy and the second will turn out to be very good this season.

    Paul Nicholls Domination

There was someone in the Racing Post recently comparing him to Rembrandt :brows: Agree Nicholls is good for the game.

    Paul Nicholls Domination

Desert Orchid - it is a bit of a chicken and egg situation really. I'm sure if any of the top 10 jumps trainers (in terms of training ability) had the likes of Barber and Bromley sending them the very best NH bloodstock then they would make an equally good job of training them to win big races...
  18. T

    Paul Nicholls Domination

That mirrors my opinion almost exactly. Nicholls is a very capable trainer and has an effective team assembled at Ditcheat. However, talk of "genius" is just ludicrous imo. He holds all the aces in terms of jumping talent at the moment - I am far from convinced that a few other trainers...

    Kauto Star Or Denman

I thought Kauto Star was a bit below form - he didn't jump well out of the sticky ground for me. Denman was awesome and would have beaten an in form KS, but I don't think he is the slogger he is portrayed to be. 3 miles is his optimum trip under these conditions - maybe 3m2f on decent ground...

William Hill, Cross Country And Fred Winter

Was the setback that there look to be two better handicapped horses in the race I wonder?
