    Kauto Star Or Denman

OK - Denman has to prove he can beat Kauto Star - and he will. Happy now?

    Kauto Star Or Denman

Nothing has beaten Denman yet over fences - that is the "slight" difference between him and Afistfullofdollars - and the fact he has recorded much better form than that horse.

    Kauto Star Or Denman

I'm not. Kauto Star is a champion - I agree. The only thing left for him to prove is that he is capable of beating Denman. For all KS's form is superior on paper, nothing has beaten Denman over fences and I don't see that changing on Friday. Anyway enough of this. I have some horses to price...

    Kauto Star Or Denman

I am genuinely surprised you would knock the Irish form Grasshopper - thought you knew a bit more about the game than that. Slowly run chases against relative speed horses like The LIstener and MOssbank are very unlikely to be won by 14 lengths. In a similar way Kauto Star is a far better...

    Kauto Star Or Denman

It does appear that an overwhelming number of people favour Kauto over Denman at the previews etc - if it was a tote based on number of opinions then I reckon Kauto would be 2-5 in a 100% match bet. I am waiting for the day as I can see Denman touching 2-1 or bigger... Then it will be time...

    Your Festival Longshots

Beantown definitely has a chance, but I think 10-1 reflects it pretty accurately.

I usually seem to have a completely different view to you, SteveM, but I agree with that, (although for me KS is v likely to complete)

    Your Festival Longshots

I don't think many people have looked at the 4 miler properly. I'm amazed Sandhurst is still available at 25s NRNB. He is an unexposed Irish chaser (ran behind Pomme Tiepy last time and not beaten up in behind) who looks like he could improve significantly over an extreme test. I'll be surprised...

    Cheltenham Festival

For once, the Gold Cup is deserving of the hype imo. It may all end in anti-climax of course (what if one of them comes down at the first?) but that shouldn't stifle the anticipation at this stage.

A Morning Out At Jackdaws Castle

Any indication as to where Don't Push It is running at Cheltenham? I backed him NRNB for the Ryanair a few weeks ago (when the Better shops went NRNB) but am desperately hoping he doesn't run now given how badly Jonjo's horses are running....

    Exotic Dancer And Jonjo O'neill

If it is on say Sportlinglife that a horse may miss work but may still run at the Festival we would probably knock the horse out but leave it in the betting. If it is reported it is injured we would remove it from the betting. If a high profile horse talks a huge walk in the market without any...

    Which Way De Solzen

My Way looks a shadow of he horse he was last season imo - at least a stone inferior. I can't have him on my mind for any Cheltenham Festival race on current form.

Any Graduates Looking For Placments Within The

it seems to be leaning the way that unless you have a degree you are unemployable ...but yet half the trading teams at the bookies didn't go to university?

Any Graduates Looking For Placments Within The

It's like all these things though - good A level grades don't prove you can do well at University but they are still used in selection procedures for admissions. I don't see anything wrong with them restricting it to graduates - the fact that many people working in the industry haven't got a...

Any Graduates Looking For Placments Within The

This course has been going on for years - I did it in 1998 (ish). I think the idea behind the courses was that the racing and its associated industries just weren't attracting graduates in any shape or form and it was trying to rectify this situation. That isn't to say that non-graduates...

    Kauto Star Or Denman

Yes - he ran close to it. If horses of that ability had been fighting out the finish with Denman on Saturday with the likes of Regal Heights stuffed 20l, I wouldnt have any problem rating it at that kind of level.
  18. T

    Kauto Star Or Denman

Thats hardly the point is it? Your rated on what you run to. I don’t believe Denman is a 180 plus horse but I can understand why some think he is capable of it. But that is not the point, your rated on what you actually achieve and there is absolutely no way a four runner trial for Cheltenham is...

    Kauto Star Or Denman

It is hard to assess such a race accurately Galileo. However, it is surely massive odds on that Denman is capable of returning such a number, so it would seem a fair enough guess?

    Kauto Star Or Denman

Denman (NAP) We know roughly how good Kauto Star is - and that is very very good indeed - around a 182-184 horse when he has his conditions. Denman hasnt run to that figure yet, but I am utterly convinced he will prove to be even better than Kauto Star - he just smashes what is put in front...
