    Tamarinbleu

...or you could take the view that only one horse has run anywhere near his race at a track that seems to throw up totally unfathomable results. I would have Tamarinbleu at about 165?????????? after this and can't see him winning the Champion Chase, weak year or not....

    Hen Knight/Jim Lewis

Jim Lewis has always come across to me as an individual seriously lacking in taste and class. I still can't get that image of him out of my head - marching down the Cheltenham Hill in his Aston Villa scarf as part of the Best Mate cortege, just after his wife had passed away. Just all seemed so...

    Kauto Star & Denman

Very interesting indeed. I'm not always AP's biggest fan, particularly on inexperienced chasers, but I think he could be just the ticket for an attacking ride on an accomplished jumper like Denman. The main positive would be that it would mean literally EVERYTHING to AP to win this race. BTW...

    Kauto Star & Denman

I would add that the BHB handicapper is probably being quite kind to Denman in terms of actual ratable form at this stage. Kauto Star probably deserves to be about 7lb clear of him imo. There is plenty of room for improvement for Denman though....

    Kauto Star & Denman

By the very way ratings are calculated, it is nigh on impossible that Denman could be rated higher than KS at this stage. He is an unbeaten, second season chaser, who can (and imo will) only scale the heights in terms of ratings when he meets the likes of Kauto Star and Exotic Dancer. The...

    Kauto Star & Denman

Obviously im referring to the second time he ran at Haydock - on soft ground (as opposed to GS) in a stronger run race than the previous year. The trip is definitely relevant - you say Denman will only beat a standing up KS "if he is the better horse". I strongly fancy Denman to beat him in the...

    Kauto Star & Denman

GF - the horse couldn't have done any more as he can only run in and win the races he has done, but the fact remains his stamina is unproven over the Gold Cup trip in a strongly run race. That would definitely be a concern for me, given that a) he is so effective over much shorter and b) when...

    Kauto Star & Denman

Not the best 2-5 shot you will ever find imo.

    Kauto Star & Denman

Agree with relkeel - KS was definitely suited by the way the Gold Cup was run last year. Of course he is a much better horse than the result suggests (with things like Turpin Green beaten 5l), but the field going slow early played right into his hands in terms of winning the race, if not running...

    Looked a very good orse

Sorry Ardross - did you make a valid point there? No - didn't think so....

    Lexus Chase

If Denman had beaten Beef Or Salmon at his prime in a race like todays it would have been an excellent performance for sure. He was very hard to beat in slowly run soft ground chases - ask all those Best Mate fans

    Lexus Chase

And Ardross - yes Beef or Salmon was a superb beast in such small field races in Ireland. He was and is useless at Cheltenham though - maybe my memory is going but I don't recall him winning a Sun Alliance chase by half the track? To attempt to pigeon hole Denman in this way is laughable....

    Lexus Chase

No really  Somehow I remember Beef or Salmon in his pomp quickening away to win slowly run Grade 1 races far more impressively. I agree with Galileo - 2 Denman and 12s Exotic Dancer - those prices strike me as bizarre on what we have seen so far. [/b] Exotic Dancer is...

    Lexus Chase

It was a slowly run race, Ardross and slowly run races will always see inferior horses finish much closer to their superiors than they "should" (especially when the superior horse's main asset is stamina) Denman still has something to find with Kauto Star on the book, but nothing he did today...

    Eddie Ahern

If he has deliberately abused the horse he should be banned for life.

    Eddie Ahern

Disgusting if it was his intention to deliberately get banned, but is there any evidence to back it up or are they just making that assumption?

    Alex Hammond/quinn

You wimmin can be so bitchy ~ she is perfectly fine to look at imo and does a good job when she presents that Horse of the Year programme.

    Boylesports Hurdle

In terms of winning Champion Hurdles I think that is definitely the case. The betting near the off strongly suggested that Sublimity (who of course also carried 4lb more than Katchit) would badly need the run and he clearly emptied out in the closing stages. Katchit ran perfectly respectably...

    Hong Kong Festival

It was desperately sad seeing Dylan Thomas treated in this manner by Coolmore. Having the horse turning up looking (and running) like a pig is no way to treat a multiple Group 1 winner. He deserved better than that and it is a shame that his career has been tarnished in this way for no obvious...
