    Led Zeppelin

Nearly all the ladies who ever encountered him in his youth still say he was the most gorgeous male they knew. He was always surrounded by many nubile wenches. But he liked the ones who tried to get away and would pursue those! ;) As for the 'borrowing' of bits and pieces from other songs ...

    Life sucks ...

It is sad - but I had to laugh! The cat is scared of ....... TOAST! Funny enough ours hate any kind of bell or siren too. They scamper when the phone rings and will knock you down as you try to get to it and they are going the other way, blindly running. I do not know why. Even on...

Horses we would like to see retired...

I truly love Lough Derg. At home he shows he still loves his work, this reluctance to race was a shock, not expected at all. His owner adores him also. He has had hard races and always wanted to go to work again. He's a nosy beastie, has head over door, kicks door if no one comes to chat. And if...

FANTASY BELIEVER - A Horse of a Lifetime

Just read this - so sorry about this news. He was a fabulous racehorse, so brave and determined - and fast! It must have been a real pleasure to be associated with him, it was certainly a joy to just watch him. You did right by him, hard as it was, and gave him a dignified end to a wonderful...

    Life sucks ...

This sounds like good news. And that he must be in remission. :D I know it may not last forever (although my friends dog lived a full 5 years following diagnosis and then died of old age related problems, not cancer) but at least he has been given more time than he would ever have had, and can...

    Retirements & Departures 2011

I loved Dubacilla. I saw henry Cole at a trainer's yard in August and he told me she had been put down a month or so ago. I think they could not even bear to tell people about it until now she meant so much to them, like one of the family. An amazing horse and good broodmare also. Sadly...

    Life sucks ...

Bless you Red, thank you for your kind comments. I know you are right, and it is definitely better to have known the stripey one than not to have known him at all. Had we not come along I don't know what would have happened to those two wild cats, but it was looking as if they would have to...

Oh, thanks for that one. This could be interesting. :)

    Non-standard construction loans/mortgages

Hope this works out for you Kri. We looked into equity release for parents and it was not all it appeared, as you say. There are some 'green' lenders who are willing to lend for unusual properties and to any age group. A friend of ours got some kind of mortgage for life based upon his pension.

    New York, New York

Life is short, we have to make the most of opportunities. Sounds like a great chance to do something different. You can always come home later. :D I'm from California, been to NY a few times but always wanted to live in the UK. So I came over for a job, centuries ago. Was a little scary, but...

It is a good card, wish I were going. I am interested to see how the Anthony Honeyball runner gets on today.

I knew something was wrong when Morpheus did not come home Saturday morning, it was so unlike him. He was always up for breakfast. We found out from the village shop Sunday morning that our neighbour Albi, who owns an eventing yard to the side and behind us had found his body just laying...

    Retirements & Departures 2011

Not been on here in ages, and so much sad to read of late. Really hoped Bideford Legend would be okay, terrible. Flame, very sorry to read about Wavertree Princess. I knew her in her first owneship, and she was indeed very pretty and a real sweetheart. Gutted for you all. :( Very sorry for...

    Life sucks ...

Love the bedtime routine - so funny. :D I read to all of the wild/half wild cats we take in and it is TS Eliot's fab book I read to them. Each cat has had a fav amongst the poems. My fav stray, the late great Bags, loved The Addressing Of Cats and would purr when I read it to him. Minnie...

Ha ha! Morpheus the long thin grey stripey thing has taken to talking. Really talking, at us. It's weird considering he was/is feral and still only very rarely allows us to touch him. But he talks, relaly gabby. He brought home a mouse recently, I was out se he located my husband in the garden...

Such a shame, was a promising horse and his connections had been very patient. Hard blow for the King yard.

Ha ha! So funny. :D Glad Dougal has some condition. If my 2 ferals got stuck I'd not be able to assist as they get all spooky. And the tame but ferocious Tortie is just wild as heck and gets all stroppy. Stay back! Kri, you are right, I whisper 'domesticated' to him! He's sleeping at the...
