Cheltenham Festival Photographs 2009. Souvenir thread.

Apologies all, but am hijacking this thread to put a few of my own photos up. I am nowhere as good as UG, so I apologise in advance for missing ears, dayglo bums and blurred images (hopefully not too many!!) Also first chance I've had to put these up due to dodgy server. Hopefully enjoy. Day...

    Favourite Aintree memories

In 1998, watching Suny Bay come home second under 12 stone hooked me completly on racing. Also enjoyed watching Monntys Pass. I'd picked him out months before and on the day, my dad ran me down the bookies to put some of my college bus money on him (well it was the holidays!). I remember...

    Cheltenham Receptions

I thought some of the receptions were muted, but obviously something to do with the downturn in crowds. I can't comment on the four big races as I was down at the rails and then heading for the dope testing area so I could get lots of pictures! Talking of which, I've got a shot of Master Minded...

    How Was Your Week?

Not really there for the betting, but for the top class racing. But I did a £2 placepot each day, one day 5 out of 6, another 4 out of 6 and the other 2 knowhere. Also did a couple of £2 e/ws through the week which came knowhere either. I'm not a tipster thankfully! But I did put £2 e/w on...

    Sandown Park 31/1

Thanks for the comments guys, always helps to see how other people interpret them and what I can do to improve. Changed cameras from a SLR to DSLR, which makes things a lot easier, with regards to learning "on the spot" as it were. I just need to grow a bit, 5'2" is not good where rails are...

    Inglis Drever Retirement

Great to see him retired fit and well. Loved seeing him race, toughness and character. Agree with what's been said before, the noise at Cheltenham last season was amazing. Thanks for the memories.

    Epsom Open Day

Hi Arkwright. No I didn't stay all day. Have done so in the past but family commitments in the afternoon! I know what you mean about being selective, think it's because the yard's are so spread out. Ended up in the 2 new yards, Michael Attwaters, Simon Dows and Roger Ingrams. Missed a couple...

    Sergeant Cecil - retired

After 53 starts, the legend that was Sergeant Cecil is being retired. After being a shadow of his former self this season, it seems very fair on the horse and congratulations to all connections on making the call. The glory days may have been while ago, but they were fantastic. Hope the horse...
