    The 2000 Guineas (and beyond)

Anyone hazard a guess at what the odds for Steinbeck and Canford Cliffs might be? Thanks

good call Ardross. painful viewing for anyone on red cadeaux (namely me)

I think it ran at Lingfield as though further would bring improvement but not sure if it will get 2m2f. That possibility was factored into the price last week, maybe not so now.

Form boosted by Tinaar on Sunday.

Considering Canford refused to settle and was fighting Hughes for the first two furlongs suggests to me that if you could switch him off he would easily get the trip.

    Think Red Cadeaux is interesting.

    The 2000 Guineas (and beyond)

RE: Canford Cliffs: King's Best also veered terribly to the left after leading in the Craven didn't he...and then he was buried in the pack in the Guineas and won. He also didn't look like a star on his final 2yo start.

Is that a fact or an opinion?

    1000 Guineas (and beyond)

The implication is that Fallon chose Seta because he thinks she's the better filly. I am not saying Fallon believes that but it explains the drift.

    Royal Ascot Day 2

Not only that. Sugar Free had nowhere to go at least twice in the race. Sorry the form's been franked. Was hoping for nicer odds :(

    The Derby 2008

In terms of Curtain Call's price. the reason is the amount of cash that's been staked on him. From 20s in April all the way down. Is it all just the Cumani factor? Perhaps. We'll know the answer on Saturday. Ted Walsh said New Approach looked overtrained at the Curragh - reminiscent of a certain...

    The Oaks 2008

From RP DERMOT WELD on Sunday said that the Juddmonte Oaks at Epsom on June 6 is now a "possibility" for Chinese White. The former ante-post favourite for the Classic, had been deemed an unlikely runner by Weld after winning a Listed race at Gowran Park on May 4. The filly is now 4-1second...

    The Oaks 2008

Betting-wise, Chinese White is interesting. Weld refused to rule her out during the week and there's a couple of hundred quid lined up for her on BF @ 8s.

    Irish Guineas

Henry was way out the back at Newmarket. I can see him ridden closer to NA and sweeping past. At least that's what I hope happens. Something similar to the Peeping Fawn - Light Shift rematch last year. Only Peeeping didn't make it past at Epsom of course.

    Irish Guineas

Is Smullen retained by Moyglare as well as Weld? If not, is the fact he rides Mad About You rather than Caribbean Sunset not significant. Surely the latter named would have some chance - won two trials. Mad About You is a relatively unexposed filly, should like the fast ground, and Weld's good...

    The Derby 2008

Fair enough. I didn't get to see the race today so just throwing some thoughts out on the reports I read. I guess if he stayed, it's pretty good form. Didn't like Centennial at Sandown, form's taken knocks too.

    The Derby 2008

Is the Dante not being judged purely on the race's reputation? Connections seem to think Twice Over doesn't really stay 1m2f - he's likely a miler - and are bypassing Epsom. So, scrapping him, you're left with two maiden winners fighting out the finish. One of which was rated 85, though...

    The Derby 2008

The fact Weld immediately nominated the French Derby suggested to me he may have stamina doubts about Casual Conquest. I know he mentioned the Irish as well. Kris on dam's side a potential cause for concern perhaps.
