    Novice Chasers 2018/2019

Elliott said this about Hardline today... ‘He might come back in trip for the Arkle. He wasn't a bad two-miler over hurdles. The day he won his Grade 1 at Limerick he was going to put it up to Getabird regardless of the mistake that one made. If the ground turns up as good as it's been all...

    Novice Chasers 2018/2019

Personally what I thought too. The distance he was dropped off at the rear of the field would have been comical if not for being held back for another day in my opinion, just given way too much to do otherwise.

    Novice Chasers 2018/2019

‘Hardline seems to handle any ground and he showed last time that this sort of trip suits him well when he got up to beat Getabird in a Grade 1 Limerick. That run entitles him to go well here and the ground will be no problem for him at all. He is probably a better horse than he has gotten...

    Novice Chasers 2018/2019

In work so didn’t see the race, how bad did it jump/run? Gone in on Hardline for the JLT now, can’t see it being its current price on the day, and I thought it was holding something back against Le Bague au Roi last time.

    Novice Hurdlers 2018/2019

Sadly no, nothing on him at bigger prices. Just found it interesting Skybet seem so keen to lay it in a lot of ‘to place’ bets and this horse will be bigged up on the day as one of the festival bankers I think.

    Novice Hurdlers 2018/2019

What do we all think of Champ’s chances for the Ballymore? Looking at the Skybet request a bets today and I’ve noticed they have him in a lot of their festival ‘place’ specials. To me it seems like they think he won’t even place let alone win the race but he’s looked different class so far this...

The Road to the 2019 Cheltenham Gold Cup

Obviously ground dependant but this equine flu drama could be a blessing in disguise for Native River. Last season’s prep seemed perfect for him and in my opinion, a hard race against Clan des Obeaux at Newbury last week or Ascot this, may have found him out come Gold Cup day. If the ground is...

The Road to the 2019 Ryanair Chase

Hit the nail on the head with the second part of your post I think. I too am in the Monalee camp, his batting back in last years Flogas was fantastic (looked like he was getting swamped by the others but just pulled away again when they came close to him) and he’s ran into one in Presenting...

    Sir Erec

Thank you both for the detailed replies, very much appreciated. If he’s entered in the Fred Winter I expect him to go very close but the market has already cottoned on. Just trying to find a bit of antepost value for the handicaps at the moment but it’s hard to find an ‘edge’ for me so far.

    Sir Erec

Thanks for the reply. Definitely one to keep an eye on novice chasing next season then. I’m sure there’s a bigger performance in him somewhere down the line.

    Sir Erec

One horse I’ve taken from the Leopardstown juvenile race on Sunday was Chief Justice. Don’t think it would reverse form with Sir Erec based on that run but definitely has a bigger performance in him to my eye. Only entry for Cheltenham so far would be a Triumph rematch against Sir Erec though...

Although not under the same ownership do we think Fakir maybe might take his chance in the Supreme instead considering his demolition job in the Triumph trial? Joseph would obviously love to win both races and splitting them apart could be the way to do it. If so, Fakir at double figure odds for...

The Road to the 2019 Champion Hurdle

On soft ground, who do we think will win? Buveur D’Air or Apple’s Jade? Personally wouldn’t oppose Buveur and would expect its price to drift on the day when Apple’s Jade inevitably gets backed like defeat is out of the question.

    Outsiders P / L 2018/2019

On old form will win on the bridle but you’d think by now they’ve have landed the gamble they wanted to. They’ve had the horse since December 2017. Two in the race against it are bred for the surface, Schindler’s Ark and Esme Kate but both friendless in the market and Esme Kate’s form is...

Clement entered in the 7f seller at Wolverhampton tomorrow. No jockey booking as of yet though. So well handicapped to strike but surely not in a selling race? What do you think?

    The Long Shot Thread

Long time lurker but first time poster here. Hello all  John Constable is one I’m following as I can’t simply have it that it’s as poor as it’s recent running implies. I hope it doesn’t win today but surely must win some race at Chepstow or Ffos Las when backed to do so. This horse...
