I couldn't help but be impressed by Filibustering (2:20) at Kelso on his first run over hurdles. The opposition was admittedly pretty poor, but his jumping was impeccable, he didn't put a foot wrong. Maybe he'll need a stiffer test than this - he stayed 2m on the flat - but worth a try at 14/1...

Came here to say exactly this! The winner from that race ran very decently in the Pertemps too. Even the 5th was midfield in the Martin Pipe today. Off 119 he should have a serious chance, although it's a very competitive race.

GDC never got into a rhythm in that, undoubtedly the faller didn't do him any favours mid race either. What a performance by the winner though, travelled beautifully and powered away. Must be nailed on for the National but at 5/2 he can win without my money!

I like the look of Wingmen in the AB. He's not the type I'd usually go for in this race but he's got some good bits of form against horses shorter in the market. Elliott's form is putting me off, for all he's hit the crossbar a few times. Derryhassen Paddy another I like.

Hansard must certainly be worth a try. I thought he had more than a shout approaching 2 out in the Kingwell, and the first 2 are pretty good horses. That Windsor race wasn't the best performance but the horses all around him have done pretty well since. Beat The Bat was 4th in the Coral Cup...

Any concerns about the ground? I was keen on him for National Trial at Haydock and he was a NR because of the ground (if I recall correctly) because of the G/S ground. Looks like it might be similar tomorrow.
