Fabulous ride from Blackmore there and I backed the bloody favourite

I was briefly getting very excited by my Impose Toi and Ballyadam exacta ! How could anyone have thought the latter had improved 4lb at his age for beating Saint Sam ( who is miles better chasing ) on New Year's Day - 4lb that just about cost him the race.

Only 16 runners is disappointing ( perhaps the novice number of runs rule playing a part ) but not the first big 2 mile handicap hurdle with a smallish field this year . Kargese looks very well in but Absurde is not to be discounted IMO.

There have always been some owners that prefer O'Keeffe - he has always ridden Gorgeous Tom and it seems he has won a few others over whilst RB was injured. Notable that Willie has put RB on his second most fancied horse in the Albert Bartlett whilst DOK retains the ride on The Big Westerner . I...

I like Springwell Bay even with his weight - he looked well suited by a big field in Jan rather than small novice condition chase fields.
