    Newbury Hurdle entries.

Don't think he's been mentioned yet here, but fully expect Favour and Fortune to run a big race. Nowhere near the sort of price I'd be looking for, indicating too many already in the know. Shame. Aucunrisque winked at me in the paddock pre-race 2 years ago. L'eau Du Sud whispered ' something...

    Aftertiming thread

I had a look at Seahouses 3 or 4 days ago after Barry Brennan had a 66-1 winner with Legendary Day. Just a look to see what else he had entered in upcoming races. Then totally forgot. Wouldn't have been able to see any logical beating of the Gifford horse, so not too painful. Worth keeping some...

    How much??!!!

You can probably keep track via this link. Doesn't look like Breathless has had a run there yet... https://www.racingandsports.com.au/search?term=breathless%20spirit As a (near) complete aside...on my first foray as a (very small part) owner...I made about £20+ from the AU sale. Better than...

A Day (Or Evening) At The Races

You could have watched (in person) Inion Tiogair decide whether today is the day (and perhaps even had an encouraging whisper in those big ears - the horse's not yours, Ian)

    Great Yorkshire (Handicap) Chase

Gutted for you, Ian. An inspired selection. But I'm more gutted for Alan Brown. That will be painful.

My reading is they've just gone for the easier option (+ maybe the Donny ground will be a little faster, which probably wouldn't suit + there could be a chance the meeting will be off). Perhaps there is an eye on longer distance races a bit further on. Lucinda is not particularly forthcoming...

    The 2025 Longshot Thread

There's a video on Tw*tter of QR on a beach gallop a few days ago, looks (or looked) well, head down, leading a few others. Only a gallop mind, but at least he's been out and about. Newcastle form from 2023 might well put him into this if fully fit.

    Newbury Hurdle entries.

My instinctive first thoughts, too. Bit of a worry that in an early season stable tour AK said he'd taken a knock and might not be back till second half of the season. But surely Alan wouldn't have risked it to go back too early for the Dec race, and the Greatwood was the original target, so...

    The 2025 Longshot Thread

It's great when they just scrape in for at least some return, isn't it. Mildly disappointing, though, for a few strides a furlong out there was a chance of a take-off. Hard to tell, maybe just blew up a little after the break, maybe just doesn't quite get the 12f enough to kick on at the end...

    The 2025 Longshot Thread

Would love to (fairly) confidently say 'today is the day' (and there are one or two markers that say it might be)...but there are enough doubts, too.... This Time Maybe goes in the 12f last at Wolves tonight, best 33 with a few (bits of mid 50 BF). On his last half a dozen runs, it could be 66...

This Time Maybe 7.00 Chelms 50-1 A weak race. TTM went from Hannon (where one of his 4 races was a Windsor C2 novice second) to Mark Usher in Oct 23. No show in 5 races since (after a 300 day break between the stables), but last time was a little better. Hannon obviously thought he wouldn't...

    How much??!!!

Gai took Fiorente some time back to win the Cup, maybe the thoughts are to try and replicate (well, you'd guess they almost certainly are). Add one or two others and it's recouped. But could be it's just the glory and money is kind of secondary.

What are you backing Today? Part 2

12.07 Kelso tomorrow Romeo Brown My immediate thoughts when Hills opened with 18-1 earlier were...1. That looks a rick and 2. only another 2 points and it would have been on the longshot thread. However, 90 mins later and he's now only 17-2 WH and a best-priced 10-1 365. Course, distance...

    Ante-Post Punting Plans/Propositions Thread.

Might be something to do with PN's post race (and pre-race) comments for the Chepstow race 3 weeks or so ago... Pre-race, along the lines of "won't be ready, PP the target" Post-race: "You can do all you like with them at home but nothing compares to a run. I was thrilled with Il Riditto on...

Good luck, Yo. It does look a nice course for a pleasant day out. Just shy of 3 hours for me in a fairly straight line West to East, might hack it in the camper van one day next spring and, if the stars align, we can grab a coffee.
