Yes. I started listening to his music when I found out that he did the music for Breaking Bad…

    The 2025 Grand National

I was thinking that, too, as I think we’ve discussed in the past how sometimes horses that appear to be un genuine actually have a physical problem that makes them not want to race.

    The 2025 Grand National

Damn. I only backed it recently because it comes under my ‘have to back it as don’t want to be willing it not to win if in contention because I like the horse/trainer/jockey’ rule. I’d always wanted Bryony to be the first female winner of the National.

    The 2025 Grand National

And a lot of horses would be running from out of the handicap, too.

    Donald Trump

Mike said when he was president the first time, that he was intent on creating a dynasty. I can’t quite get my head round what’s happening in America at the moment. At least le Pen can’t stand in France now, so that’s one down.

    The 2025 Grand National

I lose track of the number of times I have to edit things! Can’t even blame auto correct this time, just fat finger syndrome!

    The 2025 Grand National

Intense Raffles tends to jump to the right a bit. Might be a problem at the canal turn but an advantage at the last fence I guess.

    What are you watching

Chris ran our late lamented racing club ( oh how I miss it, especially at this time of year). One year he got every surviving National winning jockey together. I got as many as I could to sign my Grand National book.Another time he organised a special night for Michael Scudamore and Scu and...

    What are you watching

I ended up binge watching series one! Trying not to start on series two for a while ( not sure how long my resolve will last). I loved it. Not many programmes can have you jumping out of your skin, welling up and laughing out loud in just one episode.

    The 2025 Grand National

I’ve just topped up my ew on Hitman. According to a grand National site I frequent he has a lot of stamina in his pedigree.

Mr Incredible has been scratched, thank goodness. Wouldn’t have been fair if he kept another horse out of running.

    Mint chocolate chip ice cream

One winter years ago we had a power cut that lasted over a week. We had to eat all the ice cream that was in the freezer. Me and the kids sat under a duvet on the sofa freezing cold ( my husband had disconnected the gas as he was working on it) and ate it. It was mint flavoured. Have never...

    What are you watching

Does racing feature much in episode one? I just got to the bit where he’s been to see the mad horse. I only found out about it because I was watching season two of my favourite comedy from the other year, The Change, and a trailer for it came on. I love Guy Pearce!

    What are you watching

Started watching Jack Irish on Ch4 last night but gave up as I need subtitles these days and couldn’t get them to work on my tv. However, they do work on my iPad so I’m going to watch it on that. I’ve always been a great fan of Guy Pearce, the best thing to have come out of Neighbours imo, and I...

    Tom Queally

I don’t usually get attached to flat horses the way that I do with NH horses but Sea the Stars was one of the exceptions. I adored him right from the start and was a complete wreck when he ran in the Arc. I spoke to Sean Magee at one of our racing club meetings. He’d just written a book about...

    70s

I love that car advert with the Suffragette City soundtrack! Still can’t believe he’s gone. When I lived in Manchester my workmates went to see him but I didn’t go for some reason. Always regret it.

I’m discovering new music all the time. There was a programme on Sky Arts Saturday night, The Chieftains at Nashville, which featured a blue grass singer/instrumentalist called Tim O’Brien who I’d never heard of. So I’ve got fifty years of his music to catch up on. What I do need to do is listen...

    An enormous bee

Bet you don’t save your bath water to flush down the loo or use the water from your hot water bottle to water the garden. Or, if you boil too much water for a cuppa put it in a flask to use later ( I think working with him for twenty years, some of it must have rubbed off on me).And my boss was...

    The 2025 Grand National

I always used to back 9 year olds with a good weight for the race ( less than 11 st) , preferably running in it for the first time. I remember when Hedgehunter fell at the last as an 8 year old thinking he’ll be stronger next year and made a point of backing him. It’ll take me a long time to get...
