    Aftertiming thread

I didn’t look at the racing that day so no, I wasn’t! Damn.

    What are you watching

Just binge watched Industry on BBC catchup. Not my sort of programme at all. All about young people in banking who do nothing but snort coke, have lots of sex ( it isn’t something you’d watch with your mum or your kids.more bonking than banking…)and double cross each other. None of them are...

    The 2025 Longshot Thread

Seems like we all backed the wrong long shot to place in Ireland? Relieved that I followed you with Goshen. As with Hewick I usually back him because I’d hate to not be willing him to win if he was upsides at the last. Let’s hope the Moore horses are starting to find their form now.

    In Memoriam (racing people)

Just like Trevor Hemmings he would chat to anyone about his beloved horses. One of the things I’ve always loved about racing: how approachable people are.

    In Memoriam (racing people)

I’m so sad to hear this. He used to come to our racing club ( which he was a great supporter of). I said to him once that I’d cried for a week when One Man died. M’dear, he said, I cried for two years. He loved his horses so much. A great loss to racing.

    What are you watching

Finally finished watching Vikings. I only started watching it years ago between series of Game of Thrones, which was far more fun. Always found Vikings took itself too seriously and was a bit up itself. And as the series went on, with more and more funding, was more style over substance. And I...

Horses you never forgave and couldn’t like

Connections said that Dessie had an ongoing back problem so perhaps that’s why he never performed well at Cheltenham. They said that, had he ran in the National, he wouldn’t have coped with the Canal Turn.

    The racing post; race entries

We watch him train on the beach.Even if I could afford to own a racehorse I couldn’t cope with watching it run! Some guys from the next village bought him for @ £7,000 and he’s won close on 190,000 now.

    The racing post; race entries

Thanks everybody. I’ve enrolled now. Wish I hadn’t though, as found out Wise Eagle is running in 4 days time so will be a wreck now!

    The racing post; race entries

I’ve never logged in before. I’ve been looking up race entries for as long as I can remember without logging in. I’ll give it a go.

    The racing post; race entries

I’ve always been able to look up a horses form and then check to see if they’ve been entered for any races, but tried to do this today and it said I couldn’t access race entries. Is this new?

    What are you watching

Checked out the trailer for it and it looks good. I loved The Revenant and am glad I saw it at the cinema. Although I have the dvd I’ve never rewatched it; for some reason it’s the films I like the most that I tend not to rewatch. Unfortunately I don’t have Netflix and have to wait till things...

In all honesty I’m probably more of a Nuts in May person.

    Crisis

We used to do the shopping for our elderly neighbour and one of the things on her shopping list was coronation chicken. So I started making it and now have it on a regular basis with salad and a baked potato. Have to buy chicken for the dog anyway as she’ll only let us clip her claws if she gets...

That was Hayley Campbells top programme of 2024 on the Must Watch podcast. I don’t have Disney, though.

    Storm Eowyn

We had no power for @12 hours and no internet till this afternoon. I was quite proud of myself for heating up a carbonara that needed using up yesterday by putting tea lights in a loaf tin, placing another loaf tin on top of it with the carbonara in and wrapping it all in tin foil. We lost lots...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

I thought Happygolucky had suffered a career ending injury? ( memory might be playing tricks again).

    Legend?

I don’t know much about football but many years ago saw footage of George Best playing and even my ignorant self knew I was seeing something very special.

    What are you watching

Tv wasn’t working last night as it’s connected to the internet but dvd player was ok so watched Joker. Have had the dvd for years but never got round to watching it. Wish I hadn’t. Don’t mind violence in films and I’m Game of Thrones hardened, but I found it totally distasteful. I know it was...
