He's on my list, albeit not in the first column.....:ninja:

    Cheltenham Festival Going

Here's a weather forecast specific to Cheltenham Racecourse - I've used this site for some time, and it's very useful. If we get the rain forecast for early March, than there will surely be no watering until the weekend before, at the earliest. I'll be there next Wednesday for the weights...

    Tom Scudamore's judgment of pace

In fairness, O'Farrell's win on Top Wood at Haydock was also achieved by going off like a scalded cat. They are tactics which worked for Martin Pipe when he had his horses much fitter than anyone else, and you'd have to think that the trainer (or trainer's interfering father) is at least...

    Is this horse Nijinsky?

It's Teenoso going to post for the 1984 John Porter Stakes. Right - move along now....

    Cheltenham Festival Going

Last year saw a dreadful summer which meant that the ground went from easy to desperate very quickly. The Open meeting actually started on good to soft, and turned nearly unraceable after just 7 mm of rain on Saturday morning. New Year's Day 2013 wasn't heavy, although only because it was...

    An experiment in honesty

Chances of Gary being allowed to say anything are zero given that ATR don't want to offend Bet365. After haranguing them on 3 different fronts, they have finally seen sense, and removed them from their lists. Hoo-ray.

    An experiment in honesty

Stan James, Unibet and Racebets all removed NMH from their lists fairly promptly, with various degrees of grovelling. Bet365 have come back to me maintaining that he could still run, and are now the only firm offering odds on his chances.

    An experiment in honesty

Incompetence in the first instance, but the experiment was to find out how firms would react to the information that he was effectively disqualified from running.

    An experiment in honesty

In this case, and all others of ineligible entries, the bets would be void,of course. The problem is that if the bookmaker was unwitting enough to lay the bet, then they would also be unaware that it shouldn't be settled as a loser. Hence the heads up. Just to update the story, 2 firms, Stan...

    An experiment in honesty

Quoting him is lazy and/or stupid at this stage (both crass, but forgivable in the grand scheme of things), but continuing to quote him after being informed that he cannot possibly run is either bloody minded or dishonest. I'm sure the firms in question will be quick to do the right thing.....

    An experiment in honesty

I noticed today that several firms are quoting prices on Gordon Elliott's No More Heroes for the Weatherby's Champion Bumper. There are no entries as yet, and No More Heroes won't be among them when they do come out, as he is ineligible to run. Bets should be void, but any firm stupid enough to...

What do you see as racing's biggest problem ?

Course staff initially got it right. It was the Jockey Club's senior inspector of racecourses who managed to feck it up, ironically.

    Festival Previews

Cheltenham really pushing the boat out there - Lee Mottershead the confirmed heavyweight in that line-up.

Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

It's categorically not true - although easy to see why people would think that might be the case.

Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

Equitania seemed to suffer a heart attack coming out of the stalls. Looked truly horrific, but suspect she was effectively senseless, and died within seconds.
