    Back, Lay, Each Way.

I know you're a contrary ******* at the best of times, but you've gone too far there.

    Cleeve Hurdle

Not published - only know Reve is in as part-owner has said so, and BHA state the top-rated runners has an official mark of 162.

    Cleeve Hurdle

There were 9 entries, headed on official ratings by Reve de Sivola. Big Buck's has no current BHA rating, for those wondering.

    Champion Hurdle 2014

Due to the unsatisfactory nature of the gallop, yes. The race didn't require Hurricane Fly to show his very best form, although he was well suited by the relative test of speed, and the second and third were arguably compromised by circumstances (or lack of fitness on OC's part). A fascinating...

    Dan Skelton and Harry Fry

I thought he looked on a stiff handicap mark going into it, but he was frighteningly good on New Year's Day at Cheltenham - a race which will be written off by many due to the conditions, but it would be a brave man who thought the standing water/missed fences did him any favours.

Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

Fixed now - claims she "interviewed a one-eyed horse called Daisy".....

Oh hold on, now it makes sense....Jilly Cooper Interview

    Champion Hurdle 2014

He may be, but not officially. Sea Pigeon got a Timeform Rating of 175 in the year he won his first Champion, and that's hard to argue with that on the balance of his form. Hurricane Fly's current (and highest) Timeform Rating is 173. I'm not suggesting that TF ratings should be regarded as...

Matt Chapman just intervued Willie Mullins

Which is why running her in a Grade 2 would be a bit of a cop out. Get her in the big one, Willie, FFS.

    Lone Working in betting shops

The official line is that there are less betting shops in the UK now that there were 15 years ago, which doesn't tally with the quote above.

    Champion Hurdle 2014

If Willie runs her in the Cleeve, Rich Ricci should look for a new trainer. Not that he will.

    Arrivals 2014

I'd call it Amherst. Just saying, like.

Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

Can we keep human obituaries separate from the equine sort, please? I know it's not intended to, but lumping poor Sean McGuinness in with some selling plater which broke down at Southwell is discomfiting.

    Calling EC1

I do indeed, and have passed those details on to the local constabulary, just to be safe, like. :ninja:

    Terry Biddlecombe

Sad to hear Terry has died after a long illness - he was 72. One of the most dashing of jockeys in and out of the saddle when the game was a little less constricted than it is now. A bit of the colour has gone.
