If you saw Zertakt's race on Saturday it should really have been two out of seven. However it was that he managed to lose that race, it had nothing to do with VW being out of form ... So you could, if you squint, say that there are signs of recovery.

Fair point about jumping at speed. That's the worry. But as for today's form - he wasn't tuned up for a Champion Hurdle today. And the stiffer test will bring the best out in him. He'll be 10 lengths better coming up the hill at Cheltenham.

Yes I would. Henderson repeated that the other day at the Newbury gallops. But I would probably still have a go with good to soft, seeing as he didn't do too bad on that ground (and soft in places I think?) at Kempton in Feb behind Karate Dori - actually his highest RPR so far.
