The 2025 Coral Gold Cup (Handicap Chase)

Hyland for me. He looks well weighted on his form against Resplendent Grey (accepting the risk that I don't know how much that one has improved) and Katate Dori. His creditable second to Jukebox Man in the Kauto Star looks a little more creditable now.

    The 2025 Stayers' Handicap Hurdle

The 2025 Hurst Park Handicap Chase

This is getting confusing. I forgot there were 2 races on this thread.

The 2025 Hurst Park Handicap Chase

Interesting... It's all about opinions as they say, but I don't feel too worried about Ascot for him. His two best performances have been at Exeter and Sandown ... right-handed, uphill finishes. Should I be thinking that Ascot is so different?

The 2025 Hurst Park Handicap Chase

Top five? I don't think JPR One is badly handicapped.

    The Will Win Thread

All true... Remember Buster Douglas. Someone put $168k on Tyson trying to buy $4k. Then again, I don't suppose AJ is going to spend the month before the fight drinking and whoring like Iron Mike did.

Nice one on Sean Og fellas ... Having seen NH Andy's post on that one, I had a look and decided to follow him in. Thanks NH Andy for the heads up!

    The 2025 Longshot Thread

I was thinking the same thing but I found myself put off by the low price they paid for him, which gave me the impression that his talent had gone. Would love to be disabused of this notion, anyone?

What are you backing Today? Part 2

I was reminded recently that non runners do not reduce the place numbers in the Betfair each way market. It still pays 3 places. It's not very often, given the incentives offered by bookies, that the Betfair each way market looks advantageous, and it's not often very liquid, but that rule is...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

I'd like to join, but I've gone for the 8/1 about Man of Desert. CD form gives him a decent shout off this mark; last time out he was up in a class 2 for his handicap debut but raced keenly and didn't stay the 10f.

    The 2025 Derby

Agreed! They can't treat every big raceday like Ascot, where you can guarantee that people are prepared to pay through the nose to be there and dress up. The Derby was always known as the people's day out. I think they should be playing on that side of it. Keep some expensive areas for the top...
