    Legend?

Sir Gordon Richards? Viv Richards & Clive Lloyd? Are these legends or are they only revered in their own sports. For me if the name can be inserted into a conversation many years after their era and it stimulates the conversation, thats a legend.

    In Memoriam (racing people)

Sad to here this, I have great memories of days at Downpatrick watching Mike prowling the ring with every bookie looking to see who he would back and as soon as he made his play each and every book collapsed the price of his pick. Happier times....

Horses you never forgave and couldn’t like

Last time I backed Harchibald was he broke my heart on day one of Cheltenham 2005. Singles, doubles and a treble on Arcalis @ 33/1 Contraband @ 9/1 I think and Harchibald at 5/1..... and for a real kick in the nuts Ihad backed Hardy @ 40/1 when he won the CH the year before.

Horses you never forgave and couldn’t like

Harchibald, a true pig of a horse who never wanted to win with my money on him but didnt mind beting a horse I had backed.

Degenerate addictions thread, how to get treated. 😂

Before I finally stopped I quit for 4 months using nicquitin patches. I found the support was really good, i signed up through the website and went through a "wind down" to my last cig and had an online diary to keep daily with progress. The site showed your progress, both healthwise and...

    Daily picks.

A definite case of after timing, woke up this morning faced with awful cards but forced myself to do a small bet... £848 for a .40p lucky 15, definitely not to be sniffed at,£800 withdrawn and will be in my bank on Monday morning.

    “Strong” Jockeys

Not sure if it this is relevant to a jockey's strength but I always thought Declan Murphy had so much artistry with his hands and made a horse run that bit better for him without having to lift his stick, though his brother Eamon was more of a whip user who would throw the kitchen sink at a...

    The bookies owe me

Great picks for an EW L31, 2 good winners and 3 decent priced placed horses.

First quarter century behind us, what have we learned ?

Personally I think the GE ban should have been longer as he made a conscious decision to sit on a horse that had just died and smile into the camera, very niaive or maybe a reflection of his attitude towards his charges who are just "ordinary". For me I struggle to see how GE's ban can be...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

I think Park of Kings should run into a place in the 3:05 Leopardstown today, trainer is ticking over nicely and should appreciate decent ground.

Road to the 2025 Champion Hurdle

No praise for a horse coming back from a year off, only praise for the horse he stuffed?

Road to the 2025 Champion Hurdle

Cant understand all the negativity about CH today. He turned up ( a few said he wouldn't), he followed the pace, he won and now he's fav for the Champion Hurdle. A high percentage of this thread has been about how Henderson and the CH camp would be making excuses, mightn't even run CH...

    King George Vl chase

Form is temporary, class is permanent.... How much better is he gong to be at Cheltenham with that run under his belt and I wonder what darts WPM is going to through at CH to try and beat him.

Degenerate addictions thread, how to get treated. 😂

Champix was on the market in the UK 10 - 15 years ago, I think, but there was a lot negative side affects, including nightmares, mood impairment and most worringly there were several cases in the States of blood clots on the brain. In my own case, tried for years to quit, finally took the plunge...

    Punchestown

Spillanes Tower ran a cracker to finish 2nd, looked like he was the winner over the last but Fact kept pulling out. I hope the first four all stay fit for the Gold Cup because if they do its going to be a cracker.
