    The 2025 Grand National

Think we have to throw Mullins in the mix aswell. Has a few with lively chances.

    The 2025 Grand National

He actually worked his way back up to be sat just off the leaders. It's when they kicked on 3 out that he lost a lot of ground. He ploughed on past some treading treacle but not sure he was that unlucky. Clearly his wrong early move didn't help, but did it cause his loss of ground from 3 out...

Always bullish me! That said, I did love the run of Iroko behind Grey Dawning. Cracking prep run that.

Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

Real shame this. Fairy Godmother retired to stud after aggravating an injury.

The commentary was sublime. "This perfect mix of poetry and destruction".

Agree with all of that. This is though the performance game. Frankel was in a different league. STS was a sight in his last run in the Arc, he was however dealing with Youmzain ( who I loved btw). Frankel was having to deal with the beast Cirrus on his favoured ground.

There is no exact science in breeding as you know. Plenty have not got the trip also. I do think he would probably have got it as a 4yr old. Imagine though, if the Derby was the plan, you would not have seen his jaw dropping Guineas performance. You also would not have seen his Queen Anne...

Just aswell he rocked up a bit later then! I can still see the face of Cecil in the last half furlong of the SJP.

    The Two Mile Chasers

Not sure having him eyes out over 2 miles is a smart move if they see him as a Gold Cup horse. He's already a fairly keen sort and a doubtful stayer, not sure this is ideal. Clearly if he bolts up then they have a decision to make! He'll end up back in the Ryanair anyway!

    The Two Mile Chasers

You think that's a smart move if they intend on going Gold Cup next season?

    The Two Mile Chasers

Decided he's not a Gold Cup horse for next season then?

He said after the Arkle that he sees him as a Gold Cup horse.

    Cheltenham Gold Cup

Not sure I would have GDC that high myself. Best Mate will devide opinion. A Plus Tard was very good on the day. Imperial Commander was a very good winner, as was Long Run.

    Cheltenham Gold Cup

Where would you rank him in the list of Gold Cup winners this century? Who would be your top 5?

I agree about the market. LDS is a strong traveller but looked a place lay. The one that looked could go with Majborough the longest but pay the price. Skelton had no choice here however. He's approached knowing he would have to commit as Majborough would have. He's already half committed when...
