    2023 Flat Ante-post Part Deux

It's only page 98 that's not showing up. Perhaps if everyone just replies a couple of times till we get to 1960 posts and therefore page 99 it will start working again. Yep, posting till we got to page 99 worked; 98 not showing but that shouldn't be a problem.

King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes 2023

The ground will clearly be a massive factor. I'll be waiting until later in the week when the forecast is more certain but hopefully before the prices have started to adjust too much for the most likely conditions.

The 2023 'Should be odds-on' thread

Trip would be a concern for me.

King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes 2023

Adayar is 120 on BF, Hamish 250 (nothing lined up to lay on either).

Flat horses to note for the season

Only way it would make sense is if the owner wanted to sell to Hong Kong which probably isn't the case.

    Bet 365

ITV7 (pretty much impossible) and Tote free placepot are a couple more. No sign of Paddy's Pick 5 for today though.

    Does this sound logical?

Just to make sure I understand the RP methodology; when X number of yards are added to a race they use the standard for the next slowest going (that's what I understood the OP to mean)? Sectionals are definitely useful in telling you the pace of a race (sometimes the eye-test can be deceiving)...

    Does this sound logical?

Obviously ground based standards are best used as a guide only. But the RP methodology for rail adjustments is lazy and nonsensical although not unsurprising when their coding still shows all jockeys in French races to be riding overweight. There are too many flaws to list but some obvious ones...

Only worry would be whether the 'lads' want a 10F G1 on his resume which would mean that he could go to the Juddmonte next before the Arc.

4lbs swing in the weights with Marshman too which would help. Worth a bit of free credit from the goals giveaway (still running).

Small thing but 1000m isn't quite 5 furlongs (6.39 yards less).

What are you backing Today? Part 2

RTV use Coursetrack for their meetings, details here: https://www.racingtv.com/racingdata ATR have sectionals for the tracks they cover, France Galop have them for French races and you can use gmaxequine.com to link through to equibase for some US racing.

Gentle Whinny is entered at Salisbury on Tuesday (5.10), WH have her priced up at 14-1.

    Desert Crown

Desert Crown 6-1 into 2-1. Adayar and Luxembourg remained steady at best priced 7/2 or 4-1 (maybe drifting half a point with some books). Desert Crown out. Adayar and Luxembourg in to best priced 9/4 (mostly 2-1) and only WH offering NRNB. Lesson: Antepost prices rarely drift unless there is...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

What do we think happened here? Horse not fit and this was just a spin out before the real target next time out? I'm assuming you were tempted (as was I) by the strong but slightly under the radar collateral form (two degrees of separation from Shaquille) and/or decent previous sectionals. But...
