Tingle Creek Chase Sandown Park Sat Dec 4th 2021

Also in case anyone hadn't noticed Henderson can't even keep his story straight. First it was the wind op that had put him behind; then the horse was fit but didn't sparkle in a piece of work. We've even had a 'murky' tracheal wash thrown in for good measure along with "he'd be ruined for life"...

Tingle Creek Chase Sandown Park Sat Dec 4th 2021

Henderson seems more anxious than most to avoid getting horses beaten. He also prefers an easier campaign prior to Cheltenham. This is his prerogative and while it's disappointing for NH racing no-one is blaming him exclusively. If he was honest about this then people would have less of a...

Tingle Creek Chase Sandown Park Sat Dec 4th 2021

    1. The International hurdle meant having to travel for £75k whereas the Morgiana + Leopardstown at Xmas was worth £90k and made for a more coherent season long campaign. 2. We're talking about swerving a race in early December, not one in the middle of February. 3. Even if placing Cheltenham...

Ladbrokes Trophy (ex Hennessy Gold Cup) Newbury Sat Nov 27th 2021

For the prize money on offer: 2 or 3 Handicaps are pretty moderate affairs these days. Less soft options for the best horses, increased prize money outside of Cheltenham, better handicapping and a weight reduction for horses over 140 (for example take one pound in four off the OR such that a...

https://www.attheraces.com/blogs/sectional-spotlight/08-December-2020/the-henry-viii-novices'-chase-and-tingle-creek-chase---which-came-out-on-top Henderson's assertion that the ground was 'heavy' or even very soft just doesn't stack up. Of course testing ground would have been an acceptable...

Tingle Creek Chase Sandown Park Sat Dec 4th 2021

Henderson has no problem lying to people's faces. Last year Altior supposedly didn't run due to the ground which Nicky was adamant was heavy... the times indicated it was good to soft on the chase course.

    The thoughts of the handicappers.

Speaking of handicapping does anyone have a link or is able to explain what factors go into a horse's mark being lowered?

1:39 and 4:40 in Arkle's races for the first of what we now call the railway fences (although it seems that previously only the last two were named as such). You can see the parked car in the background. They then jump 2 more each time before making the turn. Also it seems the commentary was...

Once more for clarity; every time the camera angle changes in Arkle's race there is a continuity problem. There are also slight rail variations. Each race started from the same point. Yes you can time the differences between fences where there was a change of camera angle to try and work out...

There's a lot to unpack here. 1. Arkle's race, the Gallaher Gold Cup (correct spelling) was the shorter race by listed distance according to the Racing Post. 2. However it was run from the same starting point as the Gainsborough (Agfa Diamond from 91-07) as far as I can tell. The time to the...

    Cheltenham 2021/22

Is it possible for someone to post the RP stable tour quote for Ashdale Bob (Jessica Harrington)? Interested if she sees him as a 3m type or whether he'll stick to middle distances and be targeted at the Marsh.

Does anyone know where I can see the trends regarding which races festival winners ran in (if any) at previous festivals? https://www.thestatsdontlie.com/horse-racing/festivals/cheltenham/ I use the above sometimes but it doesn't have this.

Thinking that Alenquer wants 1m4 on very soft is ignoring the form book. Apart from his breeding what makes people think conditions will suit?

    Royal Ascot 2021

Glass Slippers not entered in the King's Stand stakes. Last update from Kevin Ryan after deciding to skip the Temple Stakes was that a decision between the King's Stand and the Diamond Jubilee would be made nearer the time. So either the horse has has a setback or more likely they are swerving...

    The Arc 2021

Adayar and Snowfall would need to supplemented for E120,000. For me this adds a couple of points to the price i'd want because it lessens chances of the scenario where either of them disappoint a bit in their next couple of runs before bouncing back under more suitable conditions at Longchamp.
