He’s at Badminton doing the commentary for the BBC ( as is Rishi) I don’t mind either of them - it’s nice to see them doing other horse sports as well.

The original one? His were pink with either a purple or green ( hard to tell on the video I just saw!) in the UK - the foreign pictures were all black and white, so I can’t see what they were once he sold abroad. The new one looks to be black with an orange cross :)

Eva’s Oscar has retired and will have a hopefully very long and happy one with Lucinda who’s looked after him since he arrived at Tim Vaughan’s.

Over in Australia on Thursday is the Chairman’s sale, featuring some of the best recently retired race mares ( Bella Nipotina and Amelia’s Jewel to name but two!) also there’s Too Darn Lizzie and her dam both going under the hammer. Will be an interesting watch...

It’s horrible - and it makes no difference if you’re on the owner / stable side of things or the veterinary side - having been both, it never gets easier.

I didn’t go back and watch it again, but sounds about right - a thwack in the right place does awful things and while I wasn’t concentrating on the back of the pack ( I wasn’t concentrating too hard on the front either truth be told 😆) I didn’t notice what made him fall - just land and go off to...

Have to say that’s along my thinking - he’d only run four times over fences before Saturday and while I’m all for throwing horses in at the deep end sometimes - that wasn’t ever it IMO. But I’m not the Mullins yard and they obviously thought he’d be fine. Sometimes it’s not to be.
