    Punchestown Today

Similar type to Golden Silver actually - average (relatively) enough form in France and comes to Mullins after a hectic career already.

    Punchestown Today

My hunch is they will end up running him in the Gold Cup - owners seem keen all season on the race and Ryanair is a long long way second.

Road to the Champion Chase 2011

Hard to say Master Minded does not deserve to be clear favourite now after that. I am sure Big Zeb will still be a big threat - where to go with Golden Silver? QM, Ryanair or keep him for the Fairyhouse/Punchestown?

MCR Hurdle - Leopardstown 9th Jan

    He's clueless eh?
  5. G

    Road to the Stayers Hurdle

My worry about him would be his action - looks to hit the ground pretty hard to me.

30 pages on the King George - only so much to be said (however number of times!)

    King George VI Chase

For the record I agree when it comes to going - unless the horse has a physical issue that connections know about you are best off giving them the benefit of the doubt. Remember Mikael D going to Cheltenham and simply because he has raced on soft ground his whole career it was thought that...

    King George VI Chase

My bad - you mentioned "connections" so assumed that included the trainer as I have never read quotes from the owners.

    King George VI Chase

You have assumed Pandorama wants testing ground based on what his trainer said?

How many "rescue homes" have you got dogs from SL?

    King George VI Chase

Good points form Ardross and EC1. Makes his run in the Gold Cup all the more interesting.

Road to the Gold Cup 2011

Would imagine this is to see if he is up to the Queen Mother Championship - if not he will go for the Gold Cup and take his chance at getting the trip. Makes sense when you think about it, rip his guts out in the Hennessy over three miles finding out he does not stay and then go to Cheltenham...

    Road To The Champion Hurdle

Mullins runs his horses - that's his style. Irish Champion is a bit more than just a Grade 1

    Road To The Champion Hurdle

I thought Hurricane Fly was running a bit flat come the line today - taking into account the comments of the trainer, I would imagine they will freshen him up ahead of his Cheltenham run after a pretty busy period. Sense of relief on their part that they got today out of the way. What I did...

Guys come on keep it civil - disagree as much as you like but keep it on topic.

Road to the Champion Chase 2011

Hamm I would like you to address the Kicking King point - because he or any other novice improves as a second season chaser does that mean he under performed in his novice season as that is what you seem to be suggesting. Because of the level Somersby showed today that is what you are basing...

Road to the Champion Chase 2011

My worry about Somersby is that he might be a horse that tends to get out paced and then stay on at any trip. Again there is nothing more to it than a hunch.

    Get well soon Diamond Geezer

Hope all is ok DG - get well soon!

Road to the Champion Chase 2011

For the record, I do not think today's effort was all that bad - but it puts to bed the notion that some were spouting that MM only needs to turn up to win the CC.
