Photos from York - Juddmonte International Day 2014

Thanks. Thanks. I didn't unfortunately, left the camera at home on Thursday. Considering going to the Malton Stables Open Day again on Sunday, went last year and got some good shots of Monet's Garden, based at Tim Fitzgeralds yard for the day.

He won Best Actor and Jared Leto won best supporting actor as far as I know. There is a triple dvd out for about £11.99 that has Dallas Buyers Club, Mud and Killer Joe on it, well worth purchasing. I saw Expendables 3 other night, good if you want to just switch off and watch people blow stuff...

    Sir Cliff

No mention of Kitty, Elm Lodge Guest House, Jill Dando's death and Super Injunctions on here? Is that a conspiracy theory or is there some truth to it?

    King George

What do people think of Flintshire and would fast ground be a problem? Group 1 winner, 8th in Arc and 2nd to Cirrus Des Aigles looks fair form compared to some rivals.

Photos from York 12th July - John Smiths Cup Day

Thanks Colin, it was very hot both Friday and Saturday. Way too busy on Saturday, getting from parade ring to betting ring is horrendous so I stayed around the paddock all afternoon.

    Films

I saw Cold In July last week and I'm still unsure what I think of it. It ends up being a very different film to what it starts out as and reminds me of 8mm. It develops quickly and some parts of the plot seem to get left behind but it's still quite an enjoyable watch. Impossible to watch Michael...

    Martin Dwyer & Paul Mulrennan

I don't agree with backing other horses in the race you're riding in because you can't be riding yours to win if you have x amount of money on a rival. I think Mulrennan mentioned dropping his out the back and staying out of the way didn't he. The video of the race shows he did exactly that too...

    Muslims

They usually have the option to not participate if they are involved in sport where you need to be hydrated or if it will impact on performance. We had Zesh Rehman (unfortunately) at Bradford City and he didn't fast when playing but opted to donate extra money to charity instead during Ramadan.

    Quarter finals

Interesting to see those thoughts. My mate has done well this World Cup and suggested Holland on the -1 handicap was the bet of the tournament, think it was about 6-4 when odds came out initially. He said Costa Rica have looked good against average teams and fully expects Holland to beat them...

    Martin Dwyer & Paul Mulrennan

The outcry on Twitter seems to be mainly from one person trying to make a bit of a name for himself by exposing this - Tracksuit Dave. Jockey bets on race - shock horror. I know one driver for a jockey that showed us a betting slip for a £500 straight win bet, horse was cruising 1f out and then...

Cheltenham Festival Preview - advice required!

I went to one held at Pudsey Liberal Club this year for the first time. Didn't really learn anything I wasn't aware of but some of the good feeling for certain horses such as Vautour and Faugheen strengthened my thoughts on certain horses. There was a compere and 4 people on the panel and 2 of...

    Which Players Will Smash It?

Arturo Vidal from Chile, looking for him to have a decent tournament. Also agree with Pjanic for Bosnia and can also see Dzeko doing well in the opening group games. I saw a suggestion that in the next few years Paul Pogba will become the best midfielder in Europe, will he start at this World...

    Top Goalscorer

Lukaku 33-1/Hazard 100-1 - I can see Belgium getting a few in the group stages, does anyone know if Lukaku takes their pens or will it be Hazard? I can see both doing well and Belgium going to 2nd round/maybe 1/4 final. Hazard ranges from 40-1 with one bookies to 100-1 with another. Could be...

Cape Caster runs in the last at Newmarket. It was 7-1 last night, just about to see what price it is now.

    The Maiden Thread

Only just saw that other day. I haven't seen any of Chester and just glanced at results. Gives the form a boost then and more reason to keep an eye on Cape Caster. Some of the maiden stats (especially 2 yr olds) are quite informative. I was at Beverley on BH Monday and noticed Tim Easterbys...

    The Maiden Thread

I'm keeping an eye out for Cape Caster. Ran a strange race at Donny when slow to get away but finished really well. The winner has let the form down since and the 3rd has won a nothing race at Kempton so I'm a little bit worried about the form. Cape Caster has run again since but was sent off as...
