Thanks AC - I had not seen this before. Just written a few (possibly final) thoughts on the race and where we go from here. Many thanks for the great support, everyone. http://www.cheltenhamdream.com/blog-diary/2021/5/2/not-a-suprise-to-mrfahey

How far would it get you?

I would work on a 10 year horizon with a horse retirement plan thrown in. The 20m would be split into three buckets (unused money would be invested): 1) 5M for horse purchases. This would be for 6 horses per year for a total of 1m per year: a Jonbon, a Moscow Flyer and four at 100k each 2)...

    Cheltenham 2020 / 2021

Uninspiring is the right word! But let's look on the bright side: they could have put the Mares Chase on Tuesday instead of the Ultima!

Kim (my wife) is going away without me this week - I can't remember whose idea it was. Oh, and Suprise Package is looking to add to his name again http://www.cheltenhamdream.com/blog-diary/2021/3/13/a-good-week-to-get-away

It certainly was - thanks. I didn't even write a blog this time because it was touch and go about him running and I was supposed to be in Exec meeting when the race was being on and I knew the heavy ground would be against him. He ran much better than I expected and I hope he comes on and we...

Back posting after losing a bit of my passion. Decided to buy another horse in hopes of rekindling it; this is the story. Suprise Package runs at Thurles (weather permitting) http://www.cheltenhamdream.com/blog-...risea-new-blog

    Cheltenham 2020 / 2021

Thanks DG Somewhat fitting that the Mares chase is in the same place as the Cathcart used to be - no one is interested. Meanwhile, they have moved the Grand Annual onto a different course and we have all three 2 mile chases in the first two days. The more I look at this running order, and how...

    Cheltenham Festival/ Corona Virus?

Totally agree. We all love horse racing but the empathy that Tout Seul displays in this post is what we should all aspire to; the rest of it is just noise. I am very sorry that DG will not attend and he does, indeed, add so much to this forum. He's always the first person to post entries and...

    Sheikh Mohammed

Amazed that the Racing Post is yet to report the (very) adverse High Court judgement against Sheikh Mohammed re his treatment of his ex-wife and daughters. At the very least, this is extremely embarrassing for him and, while probably a stretch, could also have some broader implications for...

    Cheltenham Festival/ Corona Virus?

Which, somehow, prompted the Racing Post to start their article with: "The UK's action plan against the coronavirus outbreak is on the cusp of moving to the 'delay stage', during which restrictions could be imposed on public gatherings, according to the government's chief medical officer Chris...

    Cheltenham Festival/ Corona Virus?

Cut off for a run is March 19th. There is a 3m 2f conditions chase at Down Royal on 17th March which could be an alternative (assuming racing goes ahead in Northern Ireland)

    Cheltenham Festival/ Corona Virus?

I must confess that Italy's draconian steps are a worrying precedent and hope they don't foretell how other governments will deal with further outbreaks. I cannot conceive that this will impact Cheltenham but have to admit I am not as dismissive as I have been for the last three weeks.

Thanks everybody. Unfortunately, his blood isn't quite right so we've taken him out. He will have a few days off and then decide if we keep going thsi year or put him in a field and get him ready for next season.
