Constitution Hill has hacked-up on all types of ground, Eddie. Heavy, Soft, G-to-S, Good…..all ground comes alike to the horse, and the going wouldn’t make a jot of a difference to how he’d fare against State Man. He is indisputably a much better horse. Insofar as comparisons with Hurricane Fly...

On what line of form would IEP finish second in a Champion Hurdle? It’s £45K to the third, and £182K to the winner of the Stayers. No brainer decision, given the weakness of the division and IEP being unexposed at staying trips. ;)

Getting “closer to State Man” means fu*ck-all if they’re both trailing-in a dozen lengths behind the winner.

Obviously can’t win the Champion Hurdle, the muppets - should be campaigned for the Stayers.

Any word from Mullins on plans for IEP?

Almost impossible to see Mullins run him as a 6yo with a half-dozen hurdles starts, off top-weight in one of the most competitive handicaps of the season, over a trip that would already have been largely outed as too short for him.

Seems strange to say it about such a young horse with so few runs under his belt, but today feels like a bit of a D-Day for Impaire Et Passe. I mean…..what do you do with him if he’s beaten by State Man today? They might choose to have another crack at the DRF, but unless he turns the tables...

Not sure I’m following this, Tanlic. Everything runs off 11-7 in the Turners.

Based on pretty-much everything we’ve seen since, Gaelic Warrrior getting beaten off 129 in the juvenile handicap at the Festival, remains one of racing’s enduring mysteries. Tanlic, bear in mind that GW is a Grade 1 winner over 3m as a novice hurdler. Arkle surely has to be the outsider of the...

Gaelic Warrior very, very good. Galopin Des Champs excellent. Great to see him back to his best.

General 7/2 now. Don’t suppose you fancy laying me the 28/1, Fist? Tell you what. I’m not a greedy man - I’d settle for 25’s. :D

Now top-price 11/2, which is much more like it.

I’m calling it. Il Etait Temps should not be a 10’s chance against a 4/11 Gaelic Warrior. These prices are fu*cked-up, imo.

It’s a parsimonious price this far out, I agree, but it’s also kind of understandable they’d want to duck a Supreme winner in a division where the rest are tripping over each other.

Pretty-much a faultless display from Marine Nationale. Impressive.

I thought it a naive ride from Patrick. The yard appear to have convinced themselves that Facile Vega is a monster, but racecourse evidence suggests that they’re kidding themselves on a little. Patrick’s ride smacked of someone who expected turbos to kick-in and it was simply a matter of when...

    King George VI Chase

Fair play to Hewitt backers, who was fifth-choice at hest for me. Suspect he probably would have reeled Shishkin in regardless too. Fu*ck me though. With Hewitt following closely on the heels of Tornado Flyer and Frodon, it’s turning into an absolute pig of a race.

Well, happy to admit I called that wrong. Il Est Francais was very impressive.

What are you backing Today? Part 2

Giovinco absolutely friendless. Have gone in at 5’s to test my theory - though admittedly, the market says it can’t win.
