What are you backing Today? Part 2

The wait goes on. Snipe jumped and travelled well, but didn't pick up on the long run-in with the final two fences omitted. Softer ground may help. Famous Bridge was a non-runner ( unsuitable going ).

What are you backing Today? Part 2

It would spoil my day if Snipe - 3:55 Kelso - won today and I didn't have a small bet on him. He's 13/2, and is running over a much more suitable trip than when he stayed on into fourth over two and a half miles at Worcester in September. Famous Bridge ( 5/1) is another of my favourites and he...

Chris Honour was Hillsin's trainer for the race at Worcester which prompted the BHA hearing a few weeks ago. Alan Jones is the current trainer - he's won races with Hillsin previously - but owner Mr Clegg moves his horses around at a rate unrivalled only by Kia Joorabchian.

5:25 Gowran Park - 12 furlong handicap on heavy ground. Paradise Lost (12/1) - Charles O'Brien. 2nd of 13 on soft in this race last year, and 5th of 16 on heavy the year before. Trainer could do with a winner ( 41 runs and 205 days since the last one ).

Her real name is Olivia. She may be a distant relative of the late Sir Arthur Streeb-Greebling, and could find work in a few years' time on one of the racing channels.

Jack Tudor is already provisionally booked to ride Lock Out in the 4:15 race at Fontwell next Thursday( the23rd ) which is another three and a quarter mile handicap chase. If he wins today the freshness aspect won't apply for that race, but I think that wins in conditional jockeys' races do not...

    Songs you'd forgot about.

The group called Eclection were similarly short-lived and recorded one eponymous album in 1968. The line-up shown here ( from left ) is Georg Hultgreen, Gerry Conway, Kerrilee Male, Trevor Lucas, and Michael Rosen ( a Canadian ). Hultgreen later adopted the name Georg Kajanus and achieved some...

    Money for jumps

Crookbarrow is down to run again - 2 pounds out of the handicap - in tomorrow's 4:58 two and a half miles conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle at Worcester. His two runs for the Greenall and Guerriero team have been 7/10 at Bangor ( though not beaten very far ), and a 10/10 effort at Market...

    The 2025 Cesarewitch (Handicap)

I shall go for these three. Hipop De Loire (11/1) Belgravian (10/1) Caprelo (28/1) And I really don't want either of Reverend Hubert or Alphonse Le Grande to win, but I'll probably still have a small win bet on ALG and a reverse forecast on the two of them.

Jorah ( 11/1 ) looks like an improver for the Skeltons stepped up in trip. Trainer says he is favourably handicapped [ off 101 ] , but lacks experience for a race like this.

The 4:55 at Chepstow this afternoon is the David Pipe Racing Handicap Hurdle over two and a half miles with seventeen runners. Mr Pipe runs two in it, and I would hope that the race title might encourage at least one good run between them. The two are Activist (14/1) - off since March, but two...

    Welcome Back Old Friends

I'm fairly sure that the Silver Trophy Handicap Hurdle on tomorrow's card used to be held in early November, and Jenny Pitman had quite a few winners in the race. Dan Skelton runs five in it this year which isn't ideal for anyone trying to find the winner though Joyeux Machin is one I am...

    The 2025 Cesarewitch (Handicap)

https://maps.turftrax.co.uk/iframe/api_showgoing.asp?mapid=312633 Any rain will be minimal, but the clerk of the course may feel the need to get the watering gear out to prevent the ground getting too firm - in his view. It'll be edging towards good to firm by the weekend.

Monday's 4:55 at Wolverhampton is the next scheduled amateur jockeys' race and unfortunately Mr Cagney is not yet one of the intended riders.
