    Irish Guineas Weekend

One of my favourite weekends of the year. I shall be there as usual. Hannon quoted after the English Guineas that Trumpet Major would skip this and go straight to Royal Ascot. Presumably the likely fast ground has changed his mind. For those if you who like stats, the last Irish trained winner...

Akeed Mofeed misses the Derby and will instead be aimed at the Irish Guineas and Irish Derby.

    Epsom Derby 2012

No Akeed Mofeed in the Derrinstown. Not sure where he'd go now before Epsom.

    Punchestown 2012

I think there are health and safety issues with areas closed etc. but the chases are off because the chase track is waterlogged.

The Road to the 2012 2000 Guineas

I can't think of too may of theirs that have used the Loughbrown as a stepping stone to the Guineas in recent years. I may be wrong, but possibly more of an Irish Guineas prep?

The Road to the 2012 2000 Guineas

Nephrite runs in a Listed Race at the Curragh on Sunday. Not a great omen for anyone who has backed him for Newmarket.

    Irish Flat Season 2012

Missed the Lincoln due to coughing. I wouldn't read too much into McDonogh. Murtagh rode him in his two previous runs and was claimed by Oxx in the Lincoln (for the winner). Murtagh's back on tomorrow evening.
