Ballydoyle Horses 2011 Discussion and Comp

It was a particularly meritorious performance in light of the fact that he was extremely coltish in the pre parade and parade ring. He had a fifth leg for a fair bit of the preliminaries!

    Irish 2000 Guineas

slowly away, pulled out, pulled in, pulled out, ran on! The winner that day looked decent. :D

    Irish 2000 Guineas

The Channon horse is interesting as well. Should help you get a reasonable price on your fella. OTB will be interested to see Murtagh jocked up on Jessie's in the first.

I'd say Power will help make the market for Tough as Nails too!

    Irish 2000 Guineas

Spill. If Prendergast has a machine in the opener then Jessie's will make the market for her. And something in the Marble Hill too?

    Tattersalls Gold Cup

My point is it was a very weak race and he was backed into favourite. I thought he liked softer ground, albeit perhaps not heavy. I certainly wouldn't be backing him on Sunday at 7-2, albeit from a betting angle it's more of a race to watch.

    Irish 2000 Guineas

It's virtually impossible to think of Oracle winning a classic, but should he really be almost 7 times the price of Zabarajad? Runs at Haydock. Decs for the other races at the Curragh aren't until Friday morning.

    Tattersalls Gold Cup

Famous Name ran in this race 2 years ago, in a very weak renewal and was stuffed 5 and a half lengths by Casual Conquest. Heavy ground may not have suited but with Lush Lashes, Moiqen and Thewayyoure in behind, that was some opportunity to win a Group 1.

    Irish 2000 Guineas

I wonder if he's more likely to run given that Zoffany is out. If so, 12s would be reasonable. Very hard to get an angle on this. Irish trainers other than O'Brien just don't win this. Could you forgive Roderic his Newmarket run? If not, that surely only leaves Dubawi Gold. He's short and...

    Punchestown British Trainers

I wouldn't overemphasise the point. Aside from that one year, there have usually been a decent enough number of British trained winners at Punchestown. Henderson, Hobbs, O'Neill, Nicholls have all done reasonably well and the 4Y0 hurdle, Stayers and a few more have been happy hunting grounds for...

    So... you think?

Very impressive, albeit he was entitled to beat those trees in the style he did. Now for the much maligned Tatts Gold Cup against Workforce. Potentially one to savour.

Ballydoyle Horses 2011 Discussion and Comp

I managed to fluke a win in this a couple of years ago with the mighty (!) Beethoven. Not expecting lightening to strike twice, but I'll have; Dansili - Race for the Stars, please. Many thanks.
