I will be watching the race simply to see how Garden Oasis gets on. It's his 21st race at the course and I reckon they could saddle it up in the car park and let it find it's own way to the starting stalls!

Glad to see Mr Oldroyd made your list even though he drew a blank at York last week as did most of the northern trainers. However his three runners collectively were beaten less than a length and a half!!!!!

Betting shops - does anyone actually use them to bet on horses these days? Most of my friends only bet online. The nearest betting shop to me is a couple of miles away set in an area that would make Toxteth look posh!!!! The last time I set foot in the shop there was a lady harassing a punter...

I noticed just before the off on the Ebor the overround figure on SP betting was showing as 141%. I realise that most people on this forum strike their bets well in advance but it is worrying what the bookmakers will trade at if the proposed tax increases go through.

I think someone on this forum wrote about backing Shergar Cup horses on their next start. I narrowed this down to ones Katie Davis rode. Don't get me wrong I think she is a fantastic young jockey riding on the dirt in the states but it's a far cry from Ascot on the turf. I risked a few pounds...
