Very unlikely I should have thought . Unless his contract with the limited forces now of Sheikh Fahad makes it expensive for OM to leave I suspect he would have bitten Juddmonte's hands off .

Possibly , but after the Lockinge he was saying he would always ride for Juddmonte if asked to explain jumping off Tamfana.

    In Memoriam (racing people)

Put me off the National for about 25 years. Great dual purpose trainer though - isnt he the only one to train more than 1000 winners over jumps and on the Flat in Britain?

    Jockey News

He is going to take up an Eddery /Hughes role according to the press release . That's a big role and a slap in the face for Oisin Murphy who clearly thought he was going to get to ride most of their best horses after getting on Lead Artist in the Lockinge.

Frankel v Brigadier Gerard. The greatest showdown.

I doubt MVOB would have been so petty though it reflects poorly on the ghastly Mrs Hislop as the evidence appears clear that it was the owner not MVOB who stood Williamson down - and Williamson only had the ride in the first place as Lester had commited to riding Crowned Prince . He had looked...

Frankel v Brigadier Gerard. The greatest showdown.

Wasn't Mrs Hislop described as someone who could start an argument in an empty room ?

    Rachel retires

I assume you are referring to the way that her great talent will be celebrated ? I will really miss seeing her ride . Those two rides for her double at Cheltenham this year were outstanding.

    Official Riding Arrangements?

Indeed , but it is intriguing that she was jocked up to ride two at Sligo tomorrow on non H de B horses . This morning she was declared for two H de B horses on Wed and then she retires . I hope it’s not considered sexist to wonder if she might be pregnant ?

    Rachel retires

Sad news - outstanding jockey - must have been quite a sudden decision she was declared for 2 for H de B on Wed only this morning . Good she went out on a winner riding the other jockeys to sleep on Saturday .

    The 2025 2000 Guineas

I tend to think he might have found more had Field of Gold challenged earlier . Though looking at videos of some of the horses delivered late to win the Guineas, - Sir Ivor , Nijinsky , El Gran Senor for example they were closer than F of G before delivering their winning efforts and off races...

    The 2025 2000 Guineas

I suppose although not his worst ride for the stable it has had the most serious consequences and it was a judgment call - hanging on to the horse a few strides too long rather than bad luck . I suspect all the ratings and time bods raving about his closing fractions have not helped Shoemark.

    racing post

The year when Chalon wasn't entered and she broke the track record in a handicap on the Saturday before winning the Coronation and Falmouth/Child . HRAC was most embarrassed and of course no supplementary entries in those days.

    The 2025 2000 Guineas

Surely that would depend on exactly what effect the tongue tie has had ?

    The 2025 2000 Guineas

Bit odd not to expect a Middle Park winner to show speed and quicken ?

    The 2025 2000 Guineas

I am not Shoemark’s biggest fan but it looked to me like f of g struggled to handle the dip on this faster ground and that rather than any delay did for him . More baffled by the ride on Shadow of Light - Barzalona lit up a suspected non-stayer rather early and found himself in front two out...

Well she didn’t retire at Punchestown.

Teahupoo much better than the rest in this field no horse of the class of Lossiemouth or Bob today.

Agreed he looked to be tanking along when he was taken out that day. His comeback from two episodes of atrial fibrillation make him an ever more admirable horse IMO.

    Punchestown

It was visually very impressive as G de C tends to be at home - but IMO Spillane's Tower does not seem to stay and made too many mistakes , Monty's Star is a Grand National horse and Banbridge was badly out of form and jumped very scruffily . No Inothewayyouarethinking or Fastorslow of course.

What a great run by dear old Captain Guinness .
