It's weird, but the Jersey is my favourite race of the Royal meeting. I have backed around 6 or 7 of the 15 winners this century. I love spotting horses in Guineas to benefit from a drop in trip. Mozart my finest hour.

Ah well.....top 3 all ran over a mile. The winner looks to be a very good horse. Further evidence of the worth of the Kingman form. Difficult to get any clues on the draw from that. I think Muwaary might be worth a go in the July Cup.

That distance stat sounds like a load of sh1te to me. Last two winners had run in a Guineas. As had Ouqba and Tariq. I make that four out of the last six winners dropped down from 8f. Not to mention Proclamation and Mozart, off the top of my head this century. I would bet more winners...

    World Cup Group B

I've gone nuts, and backed Australia to beat Holland at 16/1. Holland aren't that good, and Australia impressed me against the Chile (after an appalling first 20 minutes). I am aware Robben is likely to make me look like a mug. I have also backed Australia on the Asian handicap (+1.75 at...

I am all over Muwaary in the Jersey. I think Treve will win the big race, but the price doesn't interest me. I haven't got a clue about the handicaps; looking for guidance.

Brazil were let down by a lack of creativity, particularly from the referee. Foiled by tiki taco.
  7. Bar the Bull

    Royal Ascot - Friday

There's a 3yo bumper on the card. Queen's Vase. Should be up your street.

No reason. I suppose I should be proud for calling it spot on.

    I feel stupid now.

I think Fellaini and Mertens will score in a 2-1 Belgian win. Belgium's lack of width is startling, and they're relying on inspiration from their attacking midfielders, which is difficult against a good defence like Algeria's. Belgium have a good crop of players alright, but they all...

Never in doubt. It was as clear as the sun in the sky that this colt is special. Sometimes people are too clever.

But I thought that Toronado was only 3L off the track record time. Is that horsesh1t?

    Chiles or EC1?

A quick google, and I can't see the track records at Ascot.

I was being a bit facetious, but does Frankel have the mile record on the round course? I can't think when he would have set that, as I know neither his SJP or his QE2 were particularly fast.

    Royal Ascot

Wow that is some time. I expect Kingman to break the track record.
  17. Bar the Bull

But I think Brazil are more likely to win than Argentina.

I won't write any team off after just one game. Apart from Honduras.

Looks like solid form. Pleasing horses in the frame. Surprised the Ballydoyle horse started at that price, yet still ran so well. Didn't look to be too many sob stories further back. Well done to those that backed the French horse. I thought SFR was the each way bet (I only backed the...

Basically we're all jostling in the dark in this tournament. Well I am, anyway. Half the fun, I guess.
