yeah every race is 48 hr decs now. has been for a few years. my point with Ballyburn is we'll have a better idea on Sunday morning how the ground might be for Tues/Weds and it may sway Mullins back to the shorter race if it's tipping down on site at 9-10am!

it seems more like rain on and off from saturday to monday based on the precip %s and even then its only around 50% in the worst spots. think it'll need it to stay pretty dry to get to good/soft though based on the reading from yesterday but i think cheltenham tends to drain quite well?

think thats still guesswork at this point rather than anyone knowing anything. was a big move on mystical power for the wednesday race the other day that's since cooled. if anything i think people maybe looking at a fairly dry forecast this week and drawing conclusions.

as much about lack of opposition and the strong chance Facile Vega goes up in distance than today's performance i think. i wouldn't take odds on now but he could easily be something like 1/3 on the day in a small low-quality field.

i'd be wary of thinking he can have a nice long career at the top because he's only 6. any horse that is continually putting in such big performances as he has, it's very difficult to keep doing it time after time. even if you look at Horses with incredible longevity like Kauto they didn't...

as i understand things, they capped it at 68,500. was someway below this on the first 3 days (wednesday was only 50k) not sure on Friday which i expect was probably full as usual
