    2000 Guineas

Monitor Closely is 9 the place on BF right now, I've had a bit at a slightly better price I also took bit of Lord Shanakill Place only Also I've backed Mastercraftsman W&P - I just can't get away from him but can't explain why! I've done so well on both Guineas in the last 2/3 years - 1st or...

    Punchestown Friday

It was a great race, on a day of exciting racing at Punchestown I was on the winner but didn't do the FCT as I thought Punjabi might have had too hard a race last time. A great effort from him on ground he would not have liked, and great to know both are the real deal. Wish I'd laid Quevega...

    Brave Inca

A wonderful horse, and one many of us here feel we have a personal stake in, and relationship with. He won me quite a bit of money, but he gave me and all of us pleasure and joy that money can't buy. Being in the Winners Enc at Leapardstown in January will ever be one of my favourite racing...

    Punchestown Thursday

Me too - I backed Skorcher quite big for a place today, well pleased with that! I also backed Inca for sentimental reasons - find I can't back against him having met the legend! - but I guess he didn't get the trip, or maybe has just had enough now What tremendous fun he has given us all, a...

    2000 Guineas Meet Up

Hope to see you crazyhorse, and anyone else around - I'll be there both days too - maybe a meetup time beside Persian Punch?

APOB article from todays Irish Times

My last horse used to do exactly that with the tongue trick inc when he was a 2yr old - it was his idea of a joke! Yeats is a racehorse - and has given no indication yet that he's tired of racing. Great link, thanks

    Takeover Target

Yes I agree that overdose should have gone down as the winner of that race, it was most unfortunate. But Marchand is a very good horse too and I look forward to seeing him again - he was very impressive at Newmarket last July

    Takeover Target

    Has Marchand d'Or been retired?

    Sopranos comes to Racing!

Depriving neighbouring trainers of the means to train their horses is imo something the BHA / Licencing authorities should get involved with. I'm not surprised there is bad feeling nor that Smith tries to ensure a level playing field, if that is the attitude

    Bloodstock News

A famous rig of recent times is Selkirk, who has sired a lot of winners in spite of only having one ball (inc Border Patrol today). The other was removed during his racing career and he ran very much better after that; it had been trapped somewhere up in the canal

I wonder if AP will get a whip ban for any of his rides today...

    Sopranos comes to Racing!

I bet CV is glad she didn't enter into that 'partnership' LOL! Not a yard I'd have anything to do with I have to say... and I don't mean Suzie's!

    2009 Older Horses

Nice run today from Osterhase aged 10! Glad he didn't make 2nd tho or he'd have shot the FCT LOL Nice run too from Caracciola, wonder if it was his last or whether he'll go for another Ces?

    Scottish National

Well done DO - I backed Chiaro e/w following advice on here and yard form (two of theirs placed) so happy with that, but aren't Twister and Brennan having a great season? V happy for them, he's a jock I really like, and I've always followed the yard

    Bloodstock News

One of those will be Kalinka, dam of Soviet Song I didn't know he was a rig - I wonder if it pained him at all racing - sometimes the raised / trapped testicle can get very sqeezed

    Man Of Iron

A trainer friend of mine said that the biggest part of his job was knowing how to deal with disappointed people, which after all is what most trainers, bar 6 or 10, are doing on every course at every meeting. The most important part of that job is presumably managing expectations

    1000 Guineas

Glad I laid off yesterday, and there was someone willing to lay her! Shame though, I think she'd have won it, and Cumani must be quite frustrated The French Guineas is a nice G1 race but it just doesn't have the prestige Back to the drawing board...

    Lord Shanakill

The course is low lying and very flat, so although the drainage is much improved, once they've had a bit of rain it does get into the ground. One thing is, that the Clerk does call the gorund correctly, almost always. It will detract from the value of the races as form though, if it comes up...

    Change Just One Result...

I poured my drink down the trousers of one such in the 1st floor bar at Sandown on KG day the year KK won the big race, and pretended it was an accident LOL. Loathsome tw*ts, such people: imagine willing a horse to risk death or injury just for the sake of a poxy bet. Gets me relly riled up too
